Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Anyone got a rip of the 'this season on' trailer that apparently played after the premiere? We didn't get that in Australia

I wonder if the mention of the Tholians is foreshadowing how the mirror enterprise ends up in the 32nd century. Perhaps the mirror Tholians were messing around with interphase again at the same time as the prime Tholians were in TOS. Given a mirror Defiant doesn't exist, because it's prime counterpart crossed over, the enterprise was the ship that became trapped instead.

And there’s shots of them in SNW’s sickbay set with Terran Empire emblems on the computer screens. So probably that ship.

the saucer also appears to say 1701, so the mirror enterprise?

At first I thought it was the Enterprise-A (since according to Picard season 3 she's preserved in mint condition at Geordi's Starfleet ship museum 800 years in the past).......but the ISS Enterprise 1701 is cool too.

Ok I'm sure this was covered in individual episodes threads but I'm wondering if theres a consensus opinion. I'M little confused about the main plot 's purpose .

My takeaway from The Chase was that the Progenitors seeded other planets to preserve themselves. I never got the impression they needed super duper tech to do this. Seemed straight forward. Same thing with The Preservers who did pretty much the same thing per TOS.

I'm glad they are building off of The Chase, but aren't they doing the same basic storyline? In TNG they were compiling puzzle pieces to find the big secret. There were red herring destinations mentioned in The Chase just like now in Discovery . Is it Betazed or Trill?

It's Seems The Chase was all about finding about the big secret revealed as the Progenitors and now it's a puzzle to solve to see "how" they did it?

Wasn't it simply that the Progenitors's scientists seeded the oceans of primordial worlds? Doesn't sound like groundbreaking tech. Unless I'm missing something?

Yeah.. there wasn't anything that indicated that they had technology much more advanced than 24th century.
I am concerned that it's just repeating the story beats of "The Chase" but I guess we'll see.
I'm really, really hoping they don't try to say that all sentient species in the galaxy came from the Progenitors. It wound be a hell of a lot if it's even ten percent.

I feel that something like the Ancients' device on Dakara in STARGATE SG-1's 8th season is what we will be seeing... a device that can create life from basically nothing, and just as easily take it away at the same time.

Which is pretty much the Genesis device from TWOK.
