Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Did Tunde say something he wasn't supposed to? He talked about how this season is meaningful to him as it's about two opposing forces who both think they're right, and unless he's really capitalizing on Burnham's relationship with the president, I'm not sure he's referencing anything we've yet seen.

The feed cut off shortly thereafter with a rather rushed goodbye that didn't even finish, lmao.

It’s possible! It may be tipping their hand a bit and be referring to the DMA, if it’s a conscious being, or the result of something being done by a species or society far, far away, or on another dimensional plane, maybe trying to open a wormhole to escape danger/a disaster themselves, creating the Anomaly as a side effect?

His specific comment about how both sides see the other as “wrong, or evil” made me think of the DMA, because so far ‪‪I wouldn’t think any conflict between humanoid beings this season resembles that, but everyone we’ve seen does see the DMA as a chaotic force of destruction, and are treating it as an evil phenomenon. And reasonably so, it’s been massively and profoundly destructive on a terrifying scale.

But man, that was a bit of a head scratcher!

Was it recorded?

I don't believe so, unfortunately, but I'll check once I'm home just in case.

The 92nd Street Y put it up already, you can check it out here.

I'm starting to think the DMA is not intentionally malevolent (much like V'Ger and the Whale Probe).

Much like V'Ger and the Whale Probe, it clearly has the scope, ability, and power to eradicate all material life within the galaxy with relative ease and speed, but is just aimlessly hanging around with no defined goal or mission yet , with Book's planet and other locations getting trashed coming across as acts of accidental collateral damage (just because of its sheer mass and power).

The ratings are brutal for this show at imdb.com. A 4.9 for "All is Possible"? It really wasn't that terrible and was much better than some of the worst dreck put out by older Trek, like "Sub Rosa" which got 4.8.
I've completely stopped looking at ratings on IMDB. They seem to be 90% trolls. For EVERY thing.

The 92nd Street Y put it up already, you can check it out here.
Thanks!

They never updated the Dedication plaque, it still seems to say NCC-1301, no -A

Probably because we rarely see it on screen.

Is that image from the latest episode? If so, something happened to the dedication plaque, for in "That Hope Is You, Part 2", it seems that they did update it. At time stamp 41:05, it is possible to read out the registry and it is NCC-1031-A.

According to Paramount on Twitter, Discovery season 4 will be on a break after next week and return February 10th. So no new Picard in February then?

Heh ... I don't think They will ever get out of the old TV scheduling routine.

They don't seem to grasp how folks now-a-days expect streaming to work.

They'll be losing money when folks end their subscriptions during that time period.

I don't grasp how streaming works. I barely watch TV any more because it doesn't fit in to my schedule. It's a weird transition that I never got over. While I am obviously not in the business of it I understand the difficulty. And if they loose money then maybe they'll learn. But probably not because people will just come back.

 How in heck do they expect to hit a new episode airing every week of the year if they keep taking breaks?! Stop That!

The break will be when the 2nd 5 episodes of Prodigy Season 1 are released, so there’s still a high chance that there will be new Trek most weeks of the year.

If there are only 11 episodes of Discovery this season, as some sources indicate, then it’ll be new from February 10th through March 3rd.

So either it’ll overlap with Picard, or it’ll be delayed until March, ‪‪I’d guess.

One of the show’s editors on Twitter confirmed it would be 13 this season for Disco. Chad something, can’t remember his last name.
