Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Sure, but the Klingons present were the ones she needed to convince that she was her own woman. Now, not only did she lie to them but the question of whether she's a Federation puppet is alive again.

Read what I added in afterwards. I think they benefit more from having L'Rell in charge than someone else. Why? Who knows. Some of them also just might not want to be #1. If you're a lesser target, you won't be the one everyone's after.

For all we know, the Klingons on L'Rell's ship are the only ones who know about Tyler.

I thought they were relatives who were in on it all along.

I don't think the actual velocity at which dramatic action happens on screen necessarily correlates with whether the audience finds that action to be enjoyable and entertaining. And I think a clean, yet thoughtfully composed visual is better than one that has detail and movement everywhere just for the sake of trying to be dynamic.
There was an episode, Such Sweet Sorrow, Part I, I think, where they try to make a conference room meeting less "boring" by spinning the camera 360 degrees over and over, which, combined with the frame rate, could make most people feel nauseous (I certainly was)

Suddenly the Klingons and Ochmoneks go into the Mess Hall.

Ash can't get out of there fast enough.

Klingon: What is this? Is that Ash Tyler?!

L'Rell: No! No! It is... it is my holoprojector!

Ochmonek: Wow! They make them so realistic these days...

Klingon: Turn it off! I'm sick of looking at that smooth forehead!

L'Rell: I... I cannot! The projector is broken.

Ochmonek: Oh! I can take a look at it.

L'Rell: No! No!

Ochmonek: Are you sure?

L'Rell: I have someone already working on it.

Klingon: Where's the Gagh?

L'Rell: It's not ready yet!

Klingon: You bring me to the Mess Hall and don't offer me anything to eat?!

L'Rell: Later! Come. I will show you the rest of the ship.

Ochmonek (takes one last look at Tyler): They're so realistic!

Very good!:techman:

I say this as a guy with long-ish hair: Tyler's hair in the second season looks horrible. How hard is it to comb it or style it? It gets better by the end of the season but, in "Saints of Imperfection", he looks like he should be going to Woodstock. Points for the '60s "stick it to The Man" look (since it's supposed to the TOS Era and TOS was made in the '60s)... except for one thing: he's literally working for the underbelly of The Man.

My image of someone who works for the CIA / Section 31 is Agent Smith from The Matrix. So, in that context, I guess if no one knew he was in Section 31, they wouldn't think it. :p

The problem is everybody knows he's in Section 31. What with that black badge he's carrying around...
He's carrying it around now. There's no way to tell if he'll continue to do it until the S31 series airs. Of course if Starfleet decides to shift the whole blame for Control onto Section 31 and officially disband it, then its agents will probably have to switch to a less identifiable communicator.

"The Sound of Thunder" could've been expanded into two episodes and it wouldn't feel stretched. Good episode on re-watch. Kind of funny, though, watching Pike and Tyler speculate about the Red Angel into retrospect.

I think the most logical place to put "Runaway" is between "Saints of Imperfection" and "The Sound of Thunder". Tilly isn't hallucinating anymore and "Saints of Imperfection" doesn't roll directly into "The Sound of Thunder", so there's an opening to work in "Runaway".

EDIT: Incidentally, between the fifth and sixth episodes looks like the only clean break in the season. I think every other episode rolls directly off the previous one. Probably because of the change in showrunners. So the placement of "Runaway" works by accident.

And did you notice the red angel was present after Spock and Michael had their argument while playing chess? When Spock threw the board and pieces on the floor.

Just stumbled across this while mindlessly browsing YT. It's a few years old but still a lot of fun.

Extremely sexy woman. I think Discovery could've done with some of those cool sound effects though.

I imagine a Superman style "S" followed by 31. They are a secret organization after all.
Their uniform will be a form-fitting black rubber jumpsuit with neon purple details, and the S31 logo in metallic silver. Both on the chest and the back. And they'll have photo IDs in the same color scheme. Georgiou will disguise herself by donning a domino mask if the need arises.

By the TOS era he'll sport a B-52's approved Beehive.
