Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

Yeah let's move on. No need for another 19 pages of threads about it. So, how about that Disco?
If you're asking me how Connolly, in his Glory, has caused me to see Discovery in a way that changed my life, I can only say that a dead begonia near my television came to life as his visage was first seen. Connolly's brief saintly life in Star Trek was one of humiliations and suffering which he bore willingly. He mansplained so that we did not have to. He took an asteroid to the head so that all us us could learn to take our own asteroids to the head in the form of learning more about the life of Connolly who Lives Within Us. You see.. we could claim that Connolly is our moral compass to help us watch Star Trek Discovery, but that is such a simple metaphor. Where was I?

Connolly re-awakened my already awakened homosexual yearnings. There was something about his square jaw and dudebro arrogance that turned me on. Don't ask me why.
I should mention that my dead begonia was more spiritually dead than physically dead when the saint brrough it back. Also it was artificial, but still a damned good miracle as these things go.

Completely agree. I work with people at my job who constantly struggle with emotional expression, how to say how they feel, and worried about how others perceive them. I personally appreciate the fact that there are characters who go through a high amount of emotional distress and yet their crewmates still support them, and they are allowed to do their duties.

If I now think of an optimistic future I want to imagine one where people can express how they feel and be accepted.

ITA considering how TNG alpha crew treated Reginald Barclay, they were no better than Spock's Vulcan school bullies.
I like to think it was retired, centenarian Admiral Tilly who suggested Jellico captain the ship of luvvies.

A local channel was showing all the previous series on a daily basis, so my DVR was recording them. I think Watched around 5 episodes each night, one of each series.

No judgement, I wish I could watch five episodes of anything a night
