Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

I did rewatch all the Trek series before season 2 of Discovery. DS9 is as great as I remembered. I liked Voyager better on the rewatch. Enterprise season 3 and 4 are great.

You rewatched all of Trek in the break between the seasons? How did you manage this? My all of Trek rewatch took like two years or so to complete. Admittedly I took some breaks at times, but I never had time to watch more than say three episodes per night, and sometimes could stomach significantly less.

A local channel was showing all the previous series on a daily basis, so my DVR was recording them. I think Watched around 5 episodes each night, one of each series.

I meant to add that BECAUSE of Discovery I am rewatching DS9, Voyager and may begin Enterprise. I do like Scott Bakula. Discovery has really reignited my love of Star Trek. It's a thing I can feel, like anticipation for Thursday night. I haven't felt that for a television show since Breaking Bad on further back, The Sopranos.

I too feel that anticipation. My last comparisons were more recent however, as I felt much the same way with 12 Monkeys and Black Sails.

I can't even start watching Netflix or something until after my older kid is in bed at 9, which severely restricts "TV time." Particularly because sometimes I want to spend the time reading or playing RPGs instead.

I started mine like a year before DSC season 1. It's still ongoing (TNG season 7, Voy season 2, DS9 season 1 - the rest is done, except the movies that I don't own which I don't have access to).

During the break in the middle of DSC's first season, I began re-watching ENT and then TOS and TAS, and have continued gradually forward (sometimes steadily and sometimes sporadically) since then. I've gotten through "Good Shepard" (VGR) thus far, about halfway into season six of that show—decent little episode exploring a bit of Voyager's literal and metaphorical "lower decks" and including a cameo from Tom Morello!

I could buy he's related to this guy:

Yoda: "Sarek, I am your father."

Now we know why the Future Romulans left Vulcan, they didn't want to turn into G'Nomes.

They preferred O'Grrs instead...

So I had an r/showerthought this morning.

Last night left me with the impression that they intend to really open the franchise up with a sort of scattershot "anything goes" approach to all the shows across the mythos. So I wonder if this might extend to the Short Treks as well.

It's become increasingly evident the QT film probably isn't happening. However, a Short Trek seems like the perfect outlet for him. And if they do intend to open the universe up, they could pretty much let him do whatever he wanted.

Shatner got a universe. Let Tarantino have one too.
