It's ok to admit they could have developed a character for longer than one episode. It's really ok to admit it was good but could have been BETTER.
YouTube videos of people complaining about Star Trek aren’t all that popular here. I mean, according to them, Kurtzman has been fired about a dozen times now.

I did that several posts ago when I said I wished I could have seen more of her.
I thought the character was a huge missed opportunity based on her performance in “Project Daedalus”.

Hooray, we're getting somewhere. So the character development could have been better. Glad that's sorted.
More Airiam would have been good. Hopefully they learned their lesson and Linus will be featured in more episodes. ( or whoever you like

Lots of things "could've been better"; that doesn't mean they weren't already good as they were, though.
I said the same thing much earlier in the conversation. But it is simply dumb to think the show is going to tell its stories the way I want them to.
It seems we now live in an era of always wishing for something other than what we have. Never here.
Personally, I think anytime I see a reference to a youtube video, I'm going to do an internal mental Find and Replace with "This guy Phil down at the comic book shop." I think that gives their opinion the appropriate amount of weight.
I mean, that's completely fair. I don't give a whole lot of weight to these when it comes to Trek. So, yes I appreciate the skepticism. And, I don't think his arguments carry more weight. But, Henry is at least not conspiracy theorist peddling Kurtzman firing rumors.
That was sorted by most folks, myself included, way back in Season One. The Bridge Crew were mostly visually interesting ciphers good for telling us about shields, warp speeds and hailing frequencies. Poor Bryce and Rhys don't even have "visually interesting" going for them in Season One ( and stil don't)

They're male, so take a backseat to side character development after Detmer, Owo, Airiam, Nhan, Reno, Number One, Dr Pollard etc etc. It'd be nice if they were given something to do, maybe three seasons in..?
Even a camera and flashy graphics won't change that.
Do I wish they gave Airiam more than a single episode of development so her death had more punch? Sure. But the alternative was she was just used as a simple antagonist who was easily defeated and the crew quickly moved on, which would have been worse.

There's tons of top quality content on YouTube. I know there are also lots of negative videos, especially about Discovery, but that shouldn't disregard all the great work that is there.
I'm not going to sort through mountains of shit for a shiny penny.
