Depends on your definition of "inter racial".

But yea, I guess it certainly wouldn't be All ethncities (Ricardo Montalbon comes to mind straight off, just within Star Trek TOS, now that I think of it, and of course Lucy and Ricky), so I'm guessing it's meant to be Black-White, though I'm pretty sure it's generally referred to as "First prime-Time interacial Kiss"

I was thinking of Lucy and Desi. Though on the black-white front, Sammy Davis Jr kissing Nancy Sinatra predates Shatner and Nichols. So we have to add the qualifier "scripted". Then there is a kiss that took place on a British TV show, so we need yet another qualifier "American". So the first Black-White kiss to take place on scripted American TV was on Star Trek.
