I admit it... 50% of the reason I watch is just to see Ryan/Seven strutting those nice globes in her skin tight "catsuit".
How many will admit the same thing? I mean, come on... be honest.

I'm not one of these: I think I'm high brow because I'm sexually repressed type of people.
Nothing personal against you or any other poster here, so please don't take it as such but I don't care what Trek fans think about Seven or the catsuit anymore.Kegek said:

I'm going to resist the obvious, which is to correct your grammar.
Simplicato, I found the catsuit aesthetically displeasing. It wasn't a big deal, but it was a tad exhibitionist and not particularly attractive. A matter of taste, not intelligence: Disliking it doesn't make me 'high-brow', or vice versa.
Wouldn't she need to go to the Academy first?Akiraprise said:
Catsuit didn't bother me. She has an awesome body and looked good in it. I thought she looked better when she was wearing normal clothes though. She looked really good in a uniform.
I was kind of surprised she didn't try to get a commission. Try to fully assimilate into her new collective.
I agree with that.Plus, I think the point was she needed to find herself and what it means to be an individual first before truly being in a "collective" again. It's one of the reasons she first feared going to Earth.
it's an out of the box guess but Wesley grew up in a Starfleet "home", being that both his mother & father both served. So being in that environment, might have "groomed" him better to accept the role.Akiraprise said:
Remember Wesley Crusher?
Seven was infinitely more qualified then him.
Plus I'm sure she could have taken all her academy courses and test if she wanted to on the ship. Especially given their unique circumstances. Icheb asked her to take the courses with him, but she refused.

Seven of Nine was part of a huge media blitz when she came on the scene. Everything with her image on it sold because both men and even women outside of the Trek fan base found her and that image to be sexy. Trek fans seem to be the only ones that take issue with a woman being a sex symbol or having a good body.
...she became a well known character associated with Trek.

Catsuits and silicone just seem silly.
I took much of what we saw as far as the future in "Shattered" as "What if" moment, much like Kes' future in "Before & After". It's could happen but it also might not.Akiraprise said:
Weren't they still 30-40 years away from home when Icheb started to take his academy courses? I always assumed that he would be taking his academy courses via their uplink with Starfleet command. Icheb had the potential to be first officer or captain of Voyager by the time they got home. Also in "Shattered" we saw the adult versions of Icheb and Naomi in Starfleet uniforms. Naomi was a lieutenant and Icheb was a commander, I believe.
I suppose it could be argued that things in Starfleet had changed by the 24th century, but in the 22nd century we know that T'Pol was given a commission and the rank of Commander without going to the Academy. There was also tacit agreement by Starfleet that a standard uniform was not required because her catsuit was simply "accessorized" to reflect her new status.exodus said:

I'm guessing it would be an insult to those that did go to Starfleet, had years of training and graduated by just giving her a uniform.
