Geeks or Nerds?

Are star trek fans considered geeks or nerds? and are we "geekier" or "nerdier" whether we read star trek books or go to conventions?

Well i don't know about others, but i am a nerd. I wear that with pride.

I know there has been a Nerd hierarchy, but i don't remember where it is ...

i really don't care about arbitrary labels applied to me by others in society simply because i don't like the same things as them.

I'm a geek. I see nerds as more social misfits (usually because of intelligence or aptitude in technology/computers/etc.) and geeks simply as people with abnormal interests. Most nerds are geeks, but not all geeks are nerds.

I always considered myself as a geek, but since I have some aptitude with computers, I suppose I'm more of a nerd.

I am not "a" nerd, I am "the" nerd.

I'm an academic person as well as a genre fan, so I think that means I'm more "nerd" than "geek".

Wil Wheaton had a wonder line (that he got from his son, apparently) at a convention where he explained that "Nerds are nerds because they don't realize that they are nerds." Whereas geeks fully embrace it.

So.... I think I'm a geek, because of Trek and Stephen King and such, and because I'm not smart enough to be a nerd. Or am I? No. I'm definitely a geek.
