GEEK TEST...

Choir less geeky than marching band? Bull shit.

Watched the Star Wars Movies 5

Corrected the previous statement to “the first Star Wars movies” 10

Watched Star Trek (regularly) 20

Know the actors in Star Trek 20

Know the episodes of Star Trek (Plot and names) 45

Have gone to a Star Trek convention 60

Read Literature for fun (school doesn’t count) 5

Own or read a Star Wars/Trek book 20

Own a computer 5

Chat 20

Met significant other through internet 60

Have played a video game for more than six hours in one sitting 25 (if you count The Sims as a video game)

Watch Dr. Who 30

Are or were in marching band 20*
* (this shouldn't count as I was section leader of the drum section in one of the coolest HS bands in South Florida at the time - exceedingly cool for a girl! :p Our football team sucked, but the band kicked ass, so people would come to the games mainly to dance to the band)

Subtotal: 345

This next part of the test is the anti-geek point section. Deduct any points earned from below from your current total. These points can be claimed as long as the action happened in the last four years unless it is related to High School activities then the rules above apply.

Getting laid in the back of a station wagon or van 50

Mountain biking 35

Treking (hiking, backpacking) 50

Do drugs more than twice a year 35

Drink (we’re talking party drinking here) 15

Not a virgin 10

Member of the 21 or mile high club 100*
*assuming 21 club means what I think it means as no way would I have sex in a airplane restroom.

Are well traveled (abroad or in the U.S.) 80

In a fraternity or a sorority 75

Subtotal: 450

Total: -105

^^Yeah, who'da thunk getting laid in the back of a minivan would pay off someday.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but it paid off back then too.

Although I think I should get extra credit as it was a van (NOT a mini-van) with a cool custom paint job on a South Florida beach. After smoking some dope. :guffaw:

150ish give or take (I lost count, since math isn't one of my geekish qualities. Maybe 130, right around there). I didn't count playing casual games of football or basketball, since I think they assume a bit more talent there (didn't feel right taking off 150 for playing pick up basketball).

I'd probably say a minor geek either way, which I can live with

225 here. If the cool car in question was a 2005 Renault Megane [:guffaw: - everyone] then that tucks me underneath the radar at 175. But what can I say? My knowledge of BASIC otherwise tips me over the edge. :(

I probably ought to add 1000 points for being a Chris Morris fan.

By the way, I don't believe in the zen of Tony Hawk, but I do believe in the zen of Tony Hawks. :bolian:

-30. I coulda sworn I was geekier!

Like pretty much everyone else, my crazy geek tendencies seem to be heavily balanced out by the fact that I have a lot of irresponsible fun.

50... Hmm, can't argue with that I suppose. Hooray for me that I don't like Star Wars

Uber geek at 725, though I drop down to true geek if I include wrestling as a popular sport... but in fairness it's probably just as geeky these days.

It didn't start too well. I used to paint miniatures when I was at university and it was the first steps to having my own business. And I met my ex on the internet... well, we first talked on the internet but she saw me perform and added me to MySpace. So unfortunatly it counts :(

I have to dispute the results of anyone who actually went through the very geekish process of calculating all of that and then got a negative score. :p;)

I got a -10,000 for not participating. Suck it, nerds!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to posting on a Star Trek board.

^Admittedly, the eight or so programming languages I am relatively well versed in probably bumped up my score.

The fact that I wasn't able to knock off any points at all probably didn't help, though.

What exactly is the 21 club? I've always known it as a former speakeasy, not as slang for a sex act. haha

I'll second that!

I got a negative score and was disappointed too! I don't think alcohol abuse and some sex should make someone not a geek!

Not sure why I bothered, I questioned a lot of the points, and drugs definitely do not make people cool..but even without deducting for any of the drug related questions, I scored a 45. Most of the geekier things I did as a teenager, with a few in my 20s.

Update, I actually missed a 50 pt deduction, so I am -5.
