I was thinking TOS-style uniforms (or NuTrek ones): a young James Earl Jones as a captain (that one might be tough given how big and ethnically-specific he is); Yul Brynner in all his bald glory as either a Captain or a blueshirt; Anna Karina as a redskirt. Be all over any of those that would be feasible.
