Even a partially charged ZPM would have ripped a massive chunk of the Earth away, or destroyed it outright. Only the chair was destroyed, the Drone magasines were built right into the Antarctic outpost and the ZPM would have been sent to the Petagon or SGC.

Okay, but again they need the chair to control thr drones.

Which comes back to why the guys running the Stargate program wouldn't want Atlantis to leave Earth.
