Gary Mitchell: Perfect Villain for Trek XII?

I've already been beaten to this idea in another thread (where i've also posted the below), but it would be amazing if SpockPrime was the next baddie.

It sure would be neat and ironic (and hopefully Mr Nimoy would be ok and well enough to do it).

I just had a debate about SpockPrime informing the federation of future events (i think he shouldn't because of the prime directive).

We could have a story where he's convinced he's right about changing the timeline but the circumstances in the new universe are different enough to make him very wrong and a conflict ensues.

Or another idea would be that he gets kidnapped by a desperate bunch who want to know the future and it turns out it was staged and they are part of his plan to change events.

I just remember this old episode of Columbo where Mr Nimoy was a really really nasty villian, utterly convincing (i think he was a doctor). He was completely different even opposite to the TOS Spock character.

I think Flint could make a great villain. He's got an interesting back-story, he can create incredible weapons and beautiful androids... he's even got a cool fortress!

Ed Harris, anyone?

oh HELL YES!!!

so who would play Gary? any ideas?

Zac Efron

Don't those eyes just say, "Worship me!"?

haha!

I won't be satisfied until Star Trek is completely populated with Tigerbeat pin-ups.

What's your idea?

Remember, he has to be younger than Kirk...

Or how about this for a twist? Make McCoy the one that gets zapped with magic powers and turns to the crazy side.
Although I like that concept in theory, I think they really need to have McCoy be "very McCoy-like" in the next film so the "triumvirate" of Brash Kirk/Logical Spock/Ethical McCoy can be prominantly featured.

Your idea would have made for an interesting TOS episode (as long as McCoy "got better" in the end).
