Gary Coleman, R.I.P.

Very sad news, if not totally unexpected as he's battled health problems for years.

This will sound weird, but while I of course remember him from Diff'rent Strokes, and also for his "stunt casting" on Buck Rogers around the same time, I also got a kick out of his involvement in, of all things, the ultra-violent Postal 2 video game. I was disappointed he decided not to do the movie. I thought it was fun to see him send himself up like that.

RIP

Alex

What a shame. The poor guy had a hard life and now has died far too young; I wish he could have found more peace and happiness in life.

RIP, Gary. :(

Oh no, not The Cosmic Wiz Kid.

Seriously though, very sad. I always liked the little guy and felt bad over the years, seeing some of the crappy curves life would periodically throw at him.

And the world gets little bit smaller.

^That was a little tacky.

Another 80's icon dead. :( World I grewed up in is gone.

Who'd a thunk Todd Bridges would be the last surviving kid? And wasn't Dixie Carter on DIfferent Strokes in later episodes?

That's such a shame. I always liked Diff'rent Strokes... I agree that he had sad life. He's in a better place, now.

:(RIP! may you find the peace you could not get in life!

Same thing I was going to say, except as a quote from a Star Trek Voyager episode where Tuvok said something similar whilst musing over the dead body of Lon Suder. I guess I can say it now:

'May you find the peace in death that you could not find in life.'-Tuvok, circa 2371:wtf::( (That first icon was added because I couldn't believe that he died, the second is for my having to deal with it.)

This is a shame. Life, and as mentioned, his own parents, gave him the rough end all too often.

I wonder about the Diff'rent Strokes curse every time I see a story about one of the 3 "kids", but I figure for the most part, they brought a lot of trouble on themselves.

Well, we can be sure there is no curse because, well, there's no such thing as a curse.

It's more a case of, "Is it really a shock when Hollywood child actors do fucked up shit"?

It's been that way for almost a hundred years.

I heard about this on my daughters facebook.

i grew up watching Different Strokes it was quite a good series.

He was not that old and to die like this is really sad.
