Targeting computers are there for a reason
But the shot was impossible, even for a computer. And Wedge should know, as a man with two faces, two voices, who blew up two Death Stars, he has more perspective than anyone on the matter.
(Though I do have a friend who argued Biggs could probably also have made the shot, since he learned to fly and shoot the same way Luke did).

T-16s only have lasers, no torpedoes or missiles. Biggs might have had more relevant experience than others but it's not necessarily a direct correlation.
