Garak and Sloan?

Instead of making two separate threads I decided to just make this one.

Are their any books that feature Luther Sloan? And are their any books besides A Stitch in Time that feature Garak?

Hollow Men has Sloan and Garak in it...

At the turning point of the Dominion War, Captain Benjamin Sisko of Starbase Deep Space 9, facing certain defeat by the relentless forces of the Jem'Hadar and the Cardassians, went through with a secret plan to secure the aid of the Federation's longtime adversaries, the Romulans. What began as a desperate attempt to save lives became a descent into an abyss of deception, moral compromises, and outright criminal acts, as Sisko sacrificed every ideal he held dear in order to preserve the civilization that espoused those selfsame principles.

Now the aftermath of that choice is revealed for the first time as Sisko is summoned to Earth to take part in the first Allied talks to come out of the Federation's new partnership with the Romulans. But Sisko's conscience weighs heavily on him, compelling him to seek some kind of penance for what he has done... while elements within Starfleet itself set in motion a scheme to use Elim Garak as a pawn against a human political dissident who may hold the key to the outcome of the war.

And Sloan was a minor character in Catalyst of Sorrows as well...

Sloan was also in Shadow, the Voyager novel of the Section 31 series.

In books published after A Stitch in Time, Garak has appeared in Cathedral, Unity, The Lotus Flower, Fearful Symmetry, one of the Typhon Pact novels and The Never-Ending Sacrifice.

Garak was also in Demons of Air and Darkness. He also appears in some of the Terok Nor novels.

As for Sloan, I think the mirror universe Sloan has appeared in literature more times than the "ordinary" Sloan.

Garak has appeared in:

  • A Stitch in Time by Andrew J. Robinson
  • Terok Nor: Night of the Wolves by S.D. Perry & Britta Dennison
  • DSN: Hollow Men by Una McCormack
  • "Face Value" (DSN: Prophecy and Change) by Una McCormack
  • Gateways: Doors into Chaos by Robert Greenberger
  • DSN: Mission Gamma: Cathedral by Andy Mangels & Michael A. Martin
  • DSN: Unity by S.D. Perry
  • DSN: Cardassia: The Lotus Flower by Una McCormack
  • DSN: Fearful Symmetry by Olivia Woods
  • DSN: The Never-Ending Sacrifice by Una McCormack
  • "The Calling" (DSN: Prophecy and Change) by Andrew J. Robinson
  • Destiny: Mere Mortals by David Mack

Garak's appearance in Demons or Air and Darkness is very brief; he appears at the end.

Shoot, you're right, I forgot about that.

As did I. I'll amend my post:

Garak has appeared in:

  • A Stitch in Time by Andrew J. Robinson
  • Terok Nor: Night of the Wolves by S.D. Perry & Britta Dennison
  • DSN: Hollow Men by Una McCormack
  • "Face Value" (DSN: Prophecy and Change) by Una McCormack

i always imagined Section 31 to be the future of the NSA :p lol

I don't see how that's the least bit plausible. The National Security Agency does signals intelligence, not field operations, and it's an agency authorized by law and answerable to the democratically-elected President and Congress.

By contrast, Section 31 is not authorized by any law or Act of Council, does not receive Federation funding, and does not answer to the Federation government. It's nothing more than a criminal conspiracy existing within the Federation government. Think the Turkish Deep State, not the NSA or CIA.
