Game UK won't be selling Mass Effect 3

Shopto are offering people £3 off their first offer if they send their Game loyalty card in. But only for new customers.

In the comments section of the MCV article I linked to, there's a guy talking about how he saw a customer in a Gamestation store going batshit at the Assistant Manager 'cause he couldn't use the £60 he had on his trade-in card. I can understand being pissed about being £60 down, but screaming at a guy who is probably going to lose his job at the end of the day isn't going to change that.

Unfortunately, I'm betting similar scenes happened across the country.

Should have had some foresight and gone in last weekend or during the week and cashed in. That's what my mates who shop there did. It's been on the cards for weeks, so no one to blame but himself.

^Some people just can't help acting like entitled gits.

Even worse, I just read a story that claims that *none* of the shop staff are being offered redundancy pay. Bastards. How much do you want to bet the executives at head office aren't being treated so badly?

I bet they're all in it together, much like we are in the cuts the government are making...

I've just read ShopTo are removing their offer on GAME reward cards after people complained it was in bad taste.

On this week's Bombcast (Giant Bomb's podcast), the discussion turned to GAME putting big price stickers over the "2" in Mass Effect 2 in an attempt to confuse buyers into thinking that the store was actually selling ME3. Any of you guys see that? If they did pull this stunt, they deserve to go out of business for being unscrupulous sleazeballs.

I saw pictures of it, but I don't generally set foot in GAME.

Apparently it's looking like GAME will be bought by RBS, so might be saved from totally going under.

Guess so, just in time for the government to offload a load of it to Dubai, so we'll go from having 2 things locally owned to selling them off to the middle east. Yay! Globalisation.

This is the same company that is still selling pre-owned copies of DC Universe Online, even though the game is free to download and play, presumably to cash in on people who aren't aware of that. So yes, unscrupulous sleazeballs.
