Am I imagining things, or are there a LOT of sci-fi horror games on the horizon?
I have to admit I didn't see 'Flashback 2' coming. The original was my favourite game on the Mega-Drive II way back at the dawn of time when Bermuda shorts and Macaulay Culkin movies roamed the Earth, and I had a lot of fun reliving it with the remastered version on Steam. (The less said about 'Fade to Black' the better.)
But this? . . . I don't know. At first blush it doesn't look like it has very strong art direction, and since they appear to be going the 2.5D route instead of sticking with vector based pixel art, I can't help but feel like it's going to just look like a generic sci-fi side-scroller. I hope I'm wrong though.
For me though, the most interesting video game related trailer of the last few days isn't even for an actual video game!
I could almost swear this looks like it's based on the abandoned Project Joplin. Pretty smart use of resources if that's the case.
