I'm sorry but I'm not taking the bait. I didn't even mention Lincoln so I'm not sure which comment you're referring to. And, if my comment was sooooo stupid, why are you so worked up over it?
All I'm saying is that they've signposted this issue with Dany since early in the show. I for one am glad they continue working on that angle up to it's final logical conclusion. YMMV.
And, really, they could've written it to go any of many different ways. Maybe Dany's arc continues on the same path and Jon has to deal with her to stop her from destroying so many innocent lives. Or, maybe after some major event or confrontation, she has an epiphany changes her ways. Maybe Jon talks her back from the edge? I don't know. I can see the potential for all of that. I bet they even shot the ending multiple ways too and released fake spoilers to throw everyone off the scent.
So, why not calm down a bit and let's see how it actually ends? OK? And, this is Game of Thrones, so if you're paying attention, you'll know not to expect happy endings.

Yeah, we'll all know in about 32 hours if the leaks (which admittedly seem horrible) are true or not.
I still kinda wonder if HBO is putting out tons of fake horrible leaks where every fan favorite (not just Dany) has their characters destroyed in order to lower expectations for the real endgame.

That would be a shame with only a couple episodes left. Just ignore the trolling and talk with the rest of us. We can still have fun talking about the show and not spoiling things or bringing in inappropriate tangents. I hope you stick around.

The more I think about it, the more I dread that there is a chance that Cersei might win. If she does the last scene will probably be some proof that the White Walkers are still around.
I'm going to suggest any and all CSA conversation be ignored because it's in bad faith.

Well... I wouldn't put anything past them. Naturally assuming Cersei will be unseated next episode is a sure fire recipe for more of the vitriol that lights up Twitter from those who haven't had their expectations met.
She may win the battle, but ultimately won't win the war. The series ending with her on the throne would be shocking and audacious, but does it fit? I imagine her end being very personal in nature. Her demise will end the war, but I can see it being a pyrrhic victory.
Looking forward to the final episodes but really hope some of those leaks are false.
There's two totally conflicting reports of what happens to Tyrion in particular, so some of the endings must be false.
I don't know where people are finding these leaks as I haven't sort them out - and I don't want to know about them.
Can we please have a moratorium on discussing these leaks and opinions regarding them? I along with many others want to experience this completely spoiler free. No offense intended. I'm normally a spoiler hog, but this is different and frankly a hell of a lot more enjoyable going into without knowing what's (possibly) going to happen.
Nothing wrong with speculating; I've done my fair share and enjoy it. Anyway, I hope I'm not being unreasonable.
I would like a moratorium on dragging discussions down into a political shit puddle. There are plenty of other threads (too many, IMO) where politics can be slung around. Can we maybe keep it away from here, or at least throttle it back from 11? Pretty please?

I hope in the end that nobody sits on the throne. The throne represents nothing good and a lot of bad. It should be melted down and turned into farming implements and the people of Westeros should adopt a new form of government.
^^^ That is why I am sort of hoping Gendry will take the throne with Davos as his hand - I think that the two of them would be happy to introduce some sort of constitutional monarchy with the king in the end only being a figurehead.
The problem with that is that if there's just a power void, the first warlord who comes along will just come fill it. There needs to be some sort of stable center of power, that just has a way to prevent it from being executed in extreme malicious ways.
A constitutional monarchy would be great, but I think the most obvious path to it is Tyrion with Varys as his hand. The trouble with Gendry claiming to be the only legitimate son of King Robert is that his claim to being a legitimate son depends on Dany.
This thread is an example of a forum needing a block function.
I can almost imagine a scene where Jon is the only one left with a claim, standing in a room with Tyrion and Varys, who are in the background discussing political strategy and machinations and Jon saying something like "Why? Why not let the people have a say in who rules them?" Partly because it's Jon being a good guy, but partly because he doesn't want to be king, especially after everything he's seen over the last year.
Essentially giving a serious version of the "supreme executive power comes from a mandate from the masses" speech from Monty Python and the Holy Grail
If Jon were to do that, the people would cheer and declare him King anyway.
The question is, does anyone know what a constitutional anything is? Our modem forms of government came from decades of philosophy and discussions out of the Renaissance and these people are still stuck in the equivalent of the dark ages.
