Game of Thrones spinoff A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight ordered to HBO series

The third episode has been my favourite so far. At least now I don’t have to keep quiet about Egg’s identity, if it was much of secret at all.

I enjoyed seeing them being given their fortunes and the fact that Egg was so uncomfortable with his.

Yeah it was pretty obvious that something was up. Unfortunately some dickhead spoiled it directly for me on Youtube in his video title but i was pretty sure already that he was of some importance. I agree that it was good they didn't drag it out too much, hate it when shows do that despite offering some pretty big clues.

The other day i was watching a GoT video on YT where Joffrey and Jaime were talking about famous Kingsguard commanders, while Joffrey was leafing through the big book and he stumbled upon Ser Duncan the Tall's entry, that has 4 pages alone. Had forgotten about that completely since it's just another scene of Joffrey being an ass and it was years since i saw the entire show but nice to know Duncan will make it.

Duncan and Egg make for such a sweet pairing, Egg being a little wiseass and Duncan just a huge lovable goof with his heart at the right place. I figured that Duncan would run afoul of the Targaryen Prince and the show makes no effort to make the Prince likeable so yeah, this will be settled harshly in the tournament i think.

Now i wonder that Egg's secret is out if he'll continue to squire for Duncan. I doubt the Targaryen's will allow one of their Princes to squire for a poor no-name but since it seems not all Targaryen's at the tournament are pricks they might well let him be.

Now that the dragon is out of the egg, in the season 5 episode "The Gift" of Game of Thrones Maester Aemon mentions his brother before passing away. He brings up how Gilly's son reminds him of Egg and then, right before his death when he is delirious, he is imagining having a conversation with him.

A,reminder about the Adaptive Canon relationship between Egg, Maester Aemon,, Aerys II, Rhaegar, Viserys, Daenerys, and Jon/Aegon:

Egg is Aerys II's father, making him Rhaegar, Viserys, and Daenerys' Grandfather and Jon/Aegon's Great Grandfather.

Aemon is Rhaegar, Viserys, and Daenerys' Great Uncle and Jon/Aegon's Great Great Uncle.

Bank holiday here in Ireland so I forgot it was Monday already. Can't wait to go home and watch episode 3 now.

Egg wasn't going to be a spoiler for me anyway. I think even if you didn't know it was obvious there was something about the boy.

Well, I didn't expect Egg's secret to come out so quickly, even though it was obvious for the viewer so it's just as well to clear it up sooner than later. I'm curious to see how Egg can continue was Dunk's squire at this point. Especially with Dunk attacking the foul-spirited, wretched prince whose name I won't bother remembering.

Overall, another fun episode and I particularly enjoyed Egg's facial expressions during the jousting. However, I was not fan of the horse violence, no matter how expected it might have been.

It was probably intentional but did Ser Robyn remind anyone else of Ser Beric? One-eyed knight with a knack of madness? Yeah, I look forward to seeing him again.

And there was a mention in this episode of one son/brother being sent to the citadel to become a Maester.

Yeah, I was surprised about that too on the outset, until I remembered these stories are from short novellas, not the usual tomes that GRRM usually writes from the original GOT. Makes for tight storytelling and excellent pacing, IMO. I'm good with it now. :)
