how many episodes are there going to be in seasone and when do you think it will be ready for a blu ray release?

I am so surprised that the forums aren't abuzz with the male nudity this episode. At first that seemed to be the big question. Well at least it seems the the story is building up and taking action.

I still haven't cooled off! Who knew Alfie Allen was built like that?

As for Loras and Renly, I think the added scene was a good idea. Not just for the hotness of it but to explain Why
Renly went for the throne and House Tyrell sided with them. In the books you find out this stuff over three books and initially it just isn't clear. Heck you don't even have conformation of Loras and Renly's affair till book 2
umm why isn't spoiler working?

You have to put in [ spoiler=Title ] Text of spoiler [ /spoiler ] (minus the spaces).

I really enjoyed the episode. Lots of nice character moments. They've added in a few of those to help flesh some things out, and I really think they've helped a lot.

Scenes such as the conversation between Robert and Cersei. Good stuff, there, especially because we never really got to see those two just talking to one another in the book.

The scene between Renly and Loras was also great, because it's setting up an important plot point for the future. And it also helps explain something that came across as kind of random in the books.

It wasn't in this episode, but the scene in last week's episode between Jory and Jaime was another good example. It kind of gave a little more weight to their confrontation tonight.
All in all, another excellent episode. I'm loving what they're doing with this show.

I enjoyed this episode, though I was I grumbling that they added yet more characters to this already heavy cast. I had thought the pimp was Robert's brother, so it threw me for a loop with Renley. Was this Renley's first appearance on the series? Another question: Lady Stark's sister was the wife of the previous King's Hand?

I enjoyed a lot of the exposition and scheming. Also the conversation between the queen and king. It really helped illustrate why Robert is so afraid of the Dothraki, even though he is king of seven kingdoms.

Their conversation was great, as was the fight between Stark and Lannister at the end. That had been building up for a while and it was good we got a little taste of it.

DarKush: Renly first appeared in episode three, "Lord Snow." And yes, Lysa Arryn (née Tully) was the wife of the late Jon Arryn. The Arryns are the ancestral rulers of the Eyrie, in the Vale, the castle to which Catelyn took Tyrion, which is where Lysa fled with her son Robert (named for the king) after Jon Arryn's death.

Renly has been in it before. He sits on the council but hasn't done much previously. Little finger is a minor noble. A Bannerman of the Vale? Renly is the brother of the King and a Baratheon. Loras' Family rules another of the 7 Kingdoms and is a major noble.
EDIT yeah Cat's sister rules the Vale another of the 7 Kingdoms.

Great episode, definitely the best one yet. :techman: Unlike last week, don't think I have any complaints. Some random thoughts:

-Tournament part 2, hooray!

-Kind of surprised they did more Theon exposition, considering all of it in the last episode.

-Glad they briskly got Catelyn's party to the Eyrie. The chapter that describes her whole ascent was frankly pretty dull.

-The show surprises me yet again, didn't think they were going to show Lysa breastfeeding!

-Perfect depiction of the sky cells.

-Definitely more forward here about Renly and Loras' relationship than we see in the book, at least the first one. As others have said, I can see the reason for the scene.

-Fantastic Robert/Cersei scene, which would have been impossible to do in the book since neither were POV characters.

-Even though I knew Jory was going to die, dang, that was brutal! Between that, the horse beheading, and the hillmen attack, they just went all out with the violence tonight.

The best episode so far and it will only get better and crazier from this point on.
So much awesome in this episode - Varys/Petyr scene, Cercei/Robert, Lancel abuse, the fight in the end, the entire Eyrie scene ...

Excellent - best episode so far... "Shit just got real!" :)

- So many good moments. I liked all the new scenes, although the Littlefinger/Varys scene wasn't staged very well - it's hard to explain. The most obvious info-dump, but still good.

- The Cersei/Robert scene was indeed great - even though the portrayal of Cersei will bother many book fans. I like it, though.

- My only real nit is probably that I think they went a bit over the top with the Erye location. A mountain peak half as high would have sufficed. :vulcan: Still, very good effects work.

- Nice to see some actual battles, and I really do like the grittyness of them. They sure aren't afraid of gore.
