Ugh, I always hated Gambit. I read X-Men comics for several years and never understood his appeal.

Gambit's badassery makes him one of the best X-Men.

Most of my X-Men knowledge comes from the 90's animated show though, so I don't know much about the comic side of things.

I always preferred Gambit to Wolverine. I've heard him described as Wolverine-lite, and yeah, okay, I see that. But that just means he has Wolverine's badassery without being such an absolute gobshite about everything. Yay Remy.

Honestly, Deadpool is the only reason to see this movie for me. I'm one of the biggest fans of Wade out there.
