Galavant: Anyone watch? (Spoilers, okay)

The trailers for this new show did not make it look very funny to me -- except for that one scene involving Galavant's "love" and her decision. That scene made me at least want to check it out.

I really only watched to confirm that the only funny scene in the entire thing was that one described above. Boy, did that not happen. The pilot completely hooked me. A bunch of really funny actors, petty much the entire cast, surrounded by some nice Alan Mencken music with a lyricist.

The writing was funny and so were the songs. The actors, IMO, led by the guy who played the "evil" King were hysterical. Anfd they could all sing. Sorry I'm not up on the actors' names, most of them I was not familiar with except John Stamos, who was also funny.

If you are curious and don't mind musical, you should check this one out.

Oh man, King Richard (evil King) is my favorite of the whole cast, but they're all talented in their own right. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

I absolutely loved it! It was hilarious, the songs were catchy, and the budget looked big. I laughed my ass off! I loved how everything was a twist on the cliche.

All the breaking into song at random times was wearing thin about 15 minutes in (not a big fan of musicals), but by the end I'd moved past all that and let myself enjoy it.

Yeah, Lassie from Psych makes a pretty good King.

BTW this is from the writer of "The Neighbors", the brilliant aliens in suburbia sitcom that was sadly cancelled. God, I loved that show.

I really would have preferred it without the musical aspects (those are nice as a surprise once a season or so, but not every single episode). Despite that, however, it was still enjoyable.

And, yes, Timothy Omundson is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors. Brom Garret in Deadwood, Lassie in Psych, Cain in Supernatural, and now Evil King Dick.

I finally got around to watching it Friday night. What a hoot! 5 minutes into it and I was hooked. I'm usually not into musicals but this one got me.

I have not seen it but the previews remind me of the short-lived show from the seventies called "When Things Were Rotten" Anyone remember that one and if so; is it similar to Galavant?

Second episode just as solid! The actress who plays Isabella is gorgeous as well...

The idea of land-locked sea pirates was particularly cute.

Just caught this last night from the PVR - and loving it. It's different, funny, and the songs fit right in. Yes, feek61, it does remind me of "When Things Were Rotten", but just the period part. I don't recall any singing back then. "Galavant" seems fresh, modern, and fun. I hope it can keep up the momentum.

I also loved how they kept up the theme of the show during the commercials, using the music from Galavant to sing about upcoming shows. Clever.

Sir Jean Hamm drunkenly vomiting out his helmet was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Yes!!

Loved "The Neighbors"--love this. Kinda surprised that the more I watched, the more I liked it.

Galavant Season One is over! Loved it. I really, really hope it gets renewed. Particularly since they didn't resolve the story!

I'm watching a live chat with the cast right now; they have no idea if they're getting renewed or anything about S2.
