Future of Paramount+ among merger talks

Hilarious that Zaslav is considered a hero given his uneven tenure and downright villainous status for his tax write off use for projects.

AT&T bought Time Warner for $85.4 billion (US$108.7 billion with debt) in 2016. [Time Warner is renamed to WarnerMedia]

AT&T sold WarnerMedia for $43 billion in 2022. [WarnerMedia is renamed to Warner Bros. Discovery]
David Zaslav becomes the new CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Currently Paramount Skydance is offering $60 billion for Warner Bros. Discovery (and it's going to get higher).

Seems like David Zaslav is doing things right.

If all one wants is cold hard cash then sure.

I'm sure Trek fans will love a Star Trek production as a soulless cash grab.

I don't know how reliable The Daily Beast is as a news source, however, according to an article on their website, the majority of the 2000+ employees scheduled to be laid off in the coming weeks are people of color.

Maurice DuBois, co anchor of the CBS Evening News, has announced he's leaving the post Dec. 18, along with co anchor John Dickerson, who had previously announced his departure.
No replacement has been announced.

If Paramount is bringing back Brett Ratner, why wouldn't they keep Alex Kurtzman? (Especially after shepherding four Star Trek series to successful conclusions -- Disco, Lower Decks, Picard, and Strange New Worlds).

Looks like Skydance's complaint about the WB/Netflix deal not being conducted fairly has paid off ...
(called it)

Trump warns Netflix’s $83bn deal for Warner Bros poses competition concerns

Netflix is probably going to have to make a multimillion dollar 'donation' to the Convict Don Self-Improvement Fund to get the deal to go through.

Now that Paramount has launched a Hostile Takeover, I wonder if Trump's new 60 minutes complaint is a strategic injury to allow another out of court bribe...I mean settlement, so he will side with Paramount in the bid. If he hasn't filed a lawsuit yet, but it's early.
