I will ask again. I hope this is good for Trek. That is all I care about.
Good, bad... Skydance is the one with the money...*

( *-With apologies to Bruce Campbell ;))

But in all seriousness Skydance is the production company behind the Kelvin series of Star Trek films: and has had a good working relationship with Alex Kurtzman ( who also worked on those films) in the past.

Meet Paramount Global's new owner, Larry Ellison:

Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison will own 77.5% of National Amusements, which will control Paramount Global, while RedBird Capital is expected to hold the remaining 22.5%.

More from the article:

The FCC review process typically includes a public comment component, where organizations and individuals can weigh in on proposed transactions. The agency typically sets a 180-day “shot clock” to review transactions, although that is an informal timeline.

"Daaaad, can you pony up a few bil to acquire 77.5% of National Amusements for me? Pleeeease?"

How the other half 0.0001% live eh?

Larry is worth $174 billion. $8 billion on Paramount is a drop in the bucket.
