Future forum status of Trek XI....

Keep the forum as is. We have forums dedicated to shows that have been off the air for 15 years so why not a movie that's been open a few weeks?

As more data comes out from the JJverse, then ad subfora.

i like the idea of subforums in the movies section. But where would Generations fit in? Probably with the TNG movies.

My first thought was that it should get it's own forum, but then I realized that would cause everyone to ask for it's own LIT forum, it's own TECH forum, etc., etc...

I say leave it as it's own forum for a year from theatrical release date (because the DVD release will cause interest to re-surge for a while), then fold it into Movies. When the sequel starts to pick up speed, give it it's own forum for a while, then follow the above pattern.

I agree that it is a new age for Star Trek, but it's still just another Trek Film. This one has almost no relation to all previous (from our perspective) events and we should speak of it accordingly, but it's still a Trek film. MHO

ST XI should be intergrated into the Movies Forum in a few months and inject some new life into that forum before this movie too becomes stale.

Like it or Dislike it, its a Star Trek movie, it belongs in the movies forum. The real question is what the hell do they call the forum for the next film? Star Trek XII? Star Trek 2?

Probably Star Trek: and then the title of the movie. Kind of like they did with TNG movies.

I think it belongs in the Trek Movie forum. We dont have subforums for the TOS and TNG films so why should this new film have a subforum? Plus its always fun to discuss which movies we like best in the movie forum and if they are all seperated it could be confusing.

This film (and subsequent sequel) should get its own forum. The Movies V.2 or some such.

Maybe review that and splinter off into an whole Abramsverse sub-section, if it produces a television spin-off.

Seems the fairest solution, especially with two whole 23rd Centuries contradicting each other from now on.

Aspects of the movie are heavily discussed all over the board right now, anyway, so a separation of the new movie from the rest of Trek seems kind of pointless.

If Trek XI gets a new forum, maybe there'll be fewer instances of having to answer questions about the new timeline - new forum = new timeline rules.

Keep this forum going for another few months. By that time, Paramount should have announced the next movie and we can simply rename this forum.

A few years down the road, we can turn this forum into a sub-forum under Trek Movies, together with TOS, TNG movie sub-forums.
