Just watched the first two new episodes. Yeah, two. Not sure why Hulu/Disney+ "dropped" two on the debut date if they intend to present them weekly, but I'm not complaining.

The first episode started strong with the fun Coney Island opening...but I hated the rest of the episode. I kept expecting the episode to comment on how hot dogs weren't actually made of meat but it still managed to be unnecessarily gross in a different manner.
The second episode was much better. I love a good Bender episode and this had all of the classic hallmarks. Scams, robot floozies, and double, triple crossing.

Son of a bitch! I didn't know that was going to happen. I kind of wish I hadn't clicked on that.
According to Futon Critic, the remaining episodes will be one a week with the season finale airing on September 28.
Also, it fits the Hulu trend: Many of their shows air 2-3 episodes at once when the season returns.
I did get a kick out of Leela going all "athlete" groupie.
Good news! You have many great episodes to catch up on!OMG I really lost track of this show. In that I never knew it came back. After the 4th season.
I love a good space pirates episode and this was one was a lot of fun. Plenty of great gags and fun subversions of pirate tropes. I loved the sight of the pirate captain with two peg legs and one hook leg. I also enjoyed Fry's role reversal when he got his parrot. And it's always good when Zapp gets undercut at every moment, the best being when Zapp made his dramatic reveal and the pirate captain didn't care in the slightest. 
Yeah, the pirate episode was lots of fun. Pirates as a civilized society really had me laughing.
