Spoilers Futurama Season 12 (9) July 29th

Today’s was a fun episode. Don’t let the name fool you, it’s not really a parody of Squid Game

I would agree with 11 being pretty bland, but the finale was really strong.

Second episode of 12 was better than the first. I like when Fry's parents actualy do something nice for him (even if it horribly backfired this time.)

I found this week's rather meh. Pretty easy to figure out as soon as we start seeing prominent supporting characters die there's going to be some manner of reset by the end, especially once main characters begin dying.

I'm sure the show didn't expect us to be fooled by any of the deaths. Even Scruffy obviously isn't going to stay dead. I liked when they had the Professor get chopped in two. If they're going to come back anyway, may as well give them horribly violent deaths.

I liked the message the episode presented and I'm always a sucker for a heartbreaking moment in Fry's childhood (as well as the reveal that Josh Gedgie was originally Fry's best friend), but I really could've done without the graphic deaths in the weird not Squid Game. Even if it was obvious from the get go that none of the "deaths" wouldn't last. The reset button (literal!) was both funny and lame at the same time.

This one was a lot of fun and gave us some nice stuff for Fry and his parents in the flashbacks.
I did get a kick out of their deadly twists on the kid's party gams, like the Barrel of Monkey over acid, and pinning the tail on the giant killer donkey. With his parents not always been presented in the best light, it was nice to get to see them actually being good parents and trying to give Fry a nice birthday, even if it didn't end up working out so well in the end.
At first thought maybe the deaths might stick if they were fairly minor characters but I knew the moment Scruffy, and then especially Zoidberg died that the deaths were going to be reversed.

Really glad to have Futurama back.

never watched Squid Games on principle (it sounded fucked up and everything I kind of hate) so I wasn’t expecting much from episode 2, but it was solid. Reminded me a bit of Neutopia the way it featured so many background characters along for the ride, but it had far more depth and punch. The deaths were a bit sadistic, but it’s sci-fi, they can undo whatever they like!

New clip from the upcoming episode. I don't see anything wrong myself.

If they had presented this episode, "The Temp", near the beginning of the Hulu revival, it would rationalize Leela's memory issues noted in some earlier posts.
