Find it odd they're calling this a Season finale. It's a two part season, so it should be mid-season finale.
Unless they just decided to turn part 2 into its own season.

Fantastic. I've largely enjoyed the first batch of episodes with only one of them not really working for me and I loved the season finale.

I look forward to even more adventures and semi-conclusions.

Yeah, the first half of the new season was good. It wasn't necessarily the best the show has ever been, but I enjoyed it and look forward to more.

One of the animation directors posted on reddit a few months ago that seasons 11(8) and 12(9) are not a single season split in two, production wise at least, as they actually do have different seasonal production codes.

So while Hulu/Disney whoever is advertising it as a single split season, internally it seems it isn't.

I didn't watch most of the Futurama until after it aired, I never realized how effed up the original aired order was. Typical Fox I guess

Disney+ has the series in aired order, not in Production/DVD order which really threw me off in my rewatch this year.

Considering 10 episodes constitutes a season most of the time nowadays, I'm not bothered by counting them as separate seasons.

But what we just watched is S8. If the next 10 are separate, then they are S9. This is the way.

Does anyone know if they are releasing the new episodes on Blu-ray/dvd? I’m one of those people who still craves physical media and the Futurama commentaries are probably my favourite commentaries ever. I need more!

Probably not, or if they do, probably not for a few years, if you follow the precedent established by the Disney+ MCU and Star Wars shows.
