Spoilers Futurama Season 11 (8)

Disney+ needs to learn how to count. The 4 movies are counted as one season (S5).

Keep in mind there's the whole production seasons versus broadcast seasons thing with Futurama.

Production wise it's season 8.
1-4 Fox, 5 the Movies, 6-7 Comedy Central, 8 Hulu.

Broadcast wise it's either season 9 or 11 depending on how the last three batches of episodes are counted.
1-5 Fox*, 6 the movies, 7-8 Comedy Central, 9 Hulu.
--or--
1-5 Fox*, 6 the movies, 7-8-9-10 Comedy Central, 11-12 Hulu.

*Fox preempted the show so much they were able to stretched the first 4 seasons into 5 broadcast seasons.
Fox season 1 was the first 9 production season 1 episodes.
Fox season 2 was a combination of production seasons 1 (4 episodes) and 2 (16 episodes).
Fox season 3 was a combination of production seasons 2 (3 episodes) and 3 (12 episodes).
Fox season 4 was a combination of production seasons 3 (9 episodes) and 4 (3 episodes).
Fox season 5 was the remaining 15 production season 4 episodes and "The Route of All Evil" from production season 3.

I admit, I now kind of want a binging chair and suit like Fry has. It's the only way to rewatch Trek properly nowadays.  Also it would be nice to use the Bender/Zoidberg shot from the opening as a reaction gif.

I liked the second new episode more than the first. I appreciated how they kept to the continuity of Kif and Amy's babies emerging from the swamp twenty years later (even though it's still unclear on just how much the characters age.) The stuff with the kids was quite sleep and I laughed a bit more than at the way too meta first episode.

I had completely forgotten about the "in 20 years" line so I love that the show was able to return to that hanging thread naturally and go wild with the story potential.

The only thing that didn't feel right was Leela forgetting about her role in the conception of the children. That's the kind of thing Fry would forget but I feel like Leela would remember it.

I didn't expect to see that asshole whale scientist again but now as a bear scientist (the tardigrade gag is great!). I'm glad Kif gave him the comeuppance he richly deserved.

I’m just so deliriously happy one of my all time favourite shows is BACK, BABY!! The two new episodes have both been thoroughly enjoyable and captured the tone and style of the original series quite nicely (certainly more so than the initial few episodes of the CC run). This is precisely what I need in my life right now and I could not be happier.

I loved this episode, it's always nice when a series like this remembers something it set up in an earlier season.
I've always really like Kiff and Amy's relationship, so any episode that focuses on them is aways starting off in a good place for me.
Did they change actors for Kiff? I swear he sounded different here than in past seasons.

"How the West Was 1010001" felt like a classic Futurama episode where everyone had something to do (well, maybe less so for Amy) as they all fell naturally into their respective roles while prospecting for thallium as part of the Bit Coin Rush. Wonderfully silly and I loved how everyone's storylines came together in the end for a three-dimensional shoot-out and limbo rescue!

Despite the returns of The Borax Kid, Roberto (and his nifty knife-shooter!), and the Robot Mafia, I appreciated the episode's restraint by not also bringing back Mom as the saloon owner who was secretly shoring up all of the Bit Mines (because let's be honest, that role could've easily been filled by Mom). Instead, we got Miss Delilah, a new memorable character with amusing mood swings who served as a worthy adversary for our heroes, and I hope we get to see her again in another setting.

Considering how much was jampacked into this episode, I was relieved that this episode was not also the Dune parody as some of us speculated from the trailer and that parody will have its own storyline later on.

Turning the whole "mining" for bit coins thing into wild west style mining was classic Futurama, and all of the western tropes they played with were fun.
I've always found Roberto pretty funny, so I liked seeing him again.

I see they're selective about how the passage of time works. The previous two episodes have acknowledged that twenty-three years have gone by since the series began, yet Hermes's son is still a teenager.

I thought that was odd. At first, I thought maybe he didn't grow that much because his voice sounded different, maybe older, but then they openly acknowledged he's a teenager. So much for that theory. I was kind of hoping Dwight would age up at least.

"Donkeys are just ugly horses, Amy."

A woman who presents as both sweet and nasty, voiced by Tress MacNeille? No way Mom could have fit that role. ;)
