From the Earth to ...... my front yard?!?

Inspired by recent discussions of Tom Hanks' "From the Earth to the Moon", I recently host a marathon of all 12 episodes for a few friends who hadn't yet seen it. Naturally, I couldn't let such an occasion pass without appropriate lawn ornaments:

Hey Neroon, the recreation of the lander is great. Is that a home made Barbie "Delenn?" I would have loved to be there, I love, LOVE "From the Earth to the Moon." I have watched it several times, I hope that they would release it on Blu Ray.

That is awesome! It must have taken you quite a few hours.

On second thought. I don't think that actually landed on your yard. I don't see any stars in the background. Or shouldn't Gilligan be covered in feathers and trip over one of the legs?

See, here is the proof that the moon landings were faked!!!!

^ Yeah... notice there's no blast debris beneath the engines ...... or is that grub residue?

Incidentally, "MinBarbie" is fallout from a group costume we parlayed at a few conventions a couple of years ago. We merged the monks from "Monty Python & the Holy Grail" with the Grey Council from B5. While making the robes, a friend said we had enough material left to make some for a Babbie doll... which I dubbed "MinBarbies". Naturally, we made one for each person in our version of the Grey Council. Cool times....

BTW.... as TerriO observed, that one on the model above is named "DeLEM". :guffaw:

So you see, the Vulcans really weren't the first contact. ;)

Hah! I can see the flag moving... "without" any wind!

Awesome stuff, Neroon. I love that miniseries; no matter how many times I see it, the last episode in particular always gets to me.

You are a sick, sick person. Sick. And its apparently contagious-my side now hurts. From laughing. Sick. So DeLEM landed on DeLAWN, huh?

That's one small step for a homeowner, one giant leap for landscapers.
So who's her boyfriend? G'Ken? ;)

Oh help... now you guys are getting your revenge. My boss just walked by my desk and wanted to know what I was laughing so hard about. :guffaw:

I think I still have a job....... :vulcan:

Nice! That looks sharp. Have you been catching "Moon Machines" on Science Channel? Some really good history there as they're interviewing the engineers responsible for the various projects.

"From the Earth to the Moon" was an excellent series. I especially liked the interplay amongst the actors playing the Apollo 12 astronauts.

Is that a Precious Moments thing? My mom's house used to be filled with them.

Good eye. We've been collecting them for our daughter, one on each birthday. She's now 13, though I forget which specific year that's for. With it's astronaut outfit, it was too good to pass up as an addition to the LEM.
