Fritz Lang's Metropolis... Who else plans on getting it?

It's November 22nd for the UK DVD/BR release of the new restored version. I won't be buying it.

But only cos I got a copy from the distributor last week to review.... Reckon I'll watch it tomorrow or Thursday.

Snap! I was going to watch it tonight, but another mail shot of DVDs showed up that will be released next week, so I have to review those first. Did check out the pdf of the insert booklet, which is full of juicy stuff though.

I seriously can't wait to see the restored version. I didn't get to see the one in theaters.
Was worth it. The new footage isn't has high quality as the already existing film (and there's a slight aspect ratio problem) but it was great to see the film in an even more complete form. I'm definitely getting the DVD.

Agreed. Even though there were problems with the picture (unlike the rest of the film, which is sourced from several 35mm prints that are in good shape, the most recently restored footage is sourced from a badly scratched 16mm print, which means there are a lot more visible scratches and it doesn't fill quite as much of the screen as the other footage) seeing in the theatre (with a sold out crowd, nonetheless) was a lot of fun. I can't wait to get my hands on the Blu-Ray.

My wife and I were gonna go this past weekend (with live Alloy Orchestra music!) but I put off buying tickets and they were sold out. But there was a note on the website that they'd be back in March... so we'll be there then!
