Ok, anyone not watching Fringe right this season and likes Sci-Fi is really missing out on some outstanding stuff. Season 1 was shaky and hit and miss till the last 3-4 episodes but Season 2 has really come into it's own and has become a great show.

Having this show is going to make losing Lost a little easier. Here's to 3-4 more years of great Sci-Fi, easily on par with the best that the X-Files had to offer.

Anyone notice that over half of California is gone? Pretty interesting that the other universe thinks we are attacking them due to Alter-Walter being bitter about Peter.

Texas was split in two and the Dakotas and Oklahoma/Kansas are now single states.

I wonder how much that 20 dollar bill they used in this episode will be worth?

I wonder if the 1980's event caused part of California to sink into the ocean or if it was always that way....

GODDAMN! Now that's how it's done! Excelent excelent episode, completely erases the memory of the musicial two weeks ago!

Does anybody have some caps of Redhead Olivia? WOOF!

I wish Anna would always have her hair like this.

I wish Anna would always act like this. After the noir episode I simply thought she had no range, but this single episode has done more to endear me to the actress than the previous two seasons.

(Am I the only one who, after the intro, thought he'd actually prefer watching a show about the alternate universe's Fringe Division?)

Also, did anybody recognize who was on the alternate universe's twenty? They called it a "Junior"...

I quite enjoyed the episode overall. Confirms most of what we suspected to be the case already, but does so a very dynamic way. I'm glad they brought in Peter's mother, to make his eventual decision all the harder and heartrending. Seems more or less obvious that they'll get Peter back to our universe when he discovers that real Daddy is an even greater bastard that kidnap-daddy. Was mildly annoyed that they brought in a trio of new or almost new characters with abilities, apparently from some section we've never heard from before (but Broils and Peter knew about), only to have all three die during the course of the episode. That felt kind of pointless.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

^ Martin Luther King.

The two guys were in previous episodes. The healer guy was from a few episodes ago, the one giving everyone diseases (like Diane Kruger). The other guy was in the episode where he could get people to commit suicide. The girl was new. And they were all basically redshirts.

I thought Anna Torv did a good job really separating the two characters. She didn't just have different hair but actually carried herself differently. In turn both characters come across differently than she does in interviews so she really does put something into it.

Now they we're seeing more from the Alternate Universe I'm confused about something. The Observers don't appear to be from the AU. But I thought they said at some point in the show or an interview that there were only two universes they would be dealing with? Because it seems like the Observers are from a third, more advanced, universe.

No Randi you werent the only one. I thought this was a just average episode myself. There were some cool moments and some neat things in the background to look at but overall not much happened.
I thought it was a poor choice to kill off the powered people in such a lame way. A brief battle against their counterparts in the park or a heavily armed AltFringe force would have been much better.
Walternate on the other hand was great.

Anybody got or know of a screen shot of that? I missed that part.

Will the X-Men be able to stop the device at Liberty Island before it dooms the world?

Sucked to be those 3 super humans. Firestarter didn't even kill that guy. Damn nanotech treatments.

I was disappointed that alt-universe's Fringe Division wasn't dressed in fringe.

"They aren't worms."

Uh...what was that about?

Our Charlie got those worms in him. Or they were called worms. They were killed and then Charlie was in I think the next episode or two. Scarlie got something in him too. He's not lucky in either universe, I guess.

I think the Observers are from a third party. They want Peter alive--either Peter, even if only one of them. So Peter's the crux of their whole thing. Not sure if Walter or Olivia matter except as regards Peter. But we know that certain people do matter for whatever reason--once they become "important." Like the girl that Observer (August, right?) saved.

Didn't I read that "our" Observers were named for the English months of year and "alt" Observers were, what, the Western zodiac?

Hope I'm not abusing the inline images too badly. I made some caps off Hulu of some of the alternate universe stuff.

Does oxidation work differently in the alt universe?

Just caught it today, stupid crappy digital signa... :grrrr:

Anyways, I loved it, and I'm really looking forward to next week's conclusion. Anyone know a good site for quality screencaps?

"Who's Jackson?"

I'm thinking the issue of slavery was very different in the Altiverse.

Y'know, I was thinking how in other shows when characters go to an alternate universe, it's usually accepted that it's automatically 'evil' or 'sinister' in some way. What if 'our' universe is the 'evil' one?

The universe isn't evil, just the people in it. Oh and they may have King on the 20 but they have Nixon on the Quarter!

Explain that!

Let's speculate who they have on their Currencey?

Penny - Statue of Liberty - This is why it is kept copper coloured
Nickel - Robert E. Lee - He served the Union and became president like Grant.
Dime - Sam Houston - The Glorious story of South and North texas.
Quarter - Richard Nixon - Know as "Trickies"

$1 Bill - Chester A Arthur
$5 Bill - Fredrick Douglas
$10 Bill - Haward Taft - Known as "Fatties"
$20 Bill - President Martin Luther King Jr. - Known as "Juniors"
$50 Bill - Aldai Stevenson - It is funny!
$100 Bill - Thomas Payne - One the founding fathers, Revolution began in 1770 instead of 1776.

So Walternate is the Defense Secretary and instead of being located in DC, the offices are on Liberty Island.

I think it was mentioned in earlier episodes that the White House and the Pentagon were destroyed on 9/11 in the alternate universe. I guess Walternate wasn't in the building that day or he became secretary sometime later. But at least it could explain why his headquarters are on Liberty Island... that and the fact that most of the "fringe events" seem to happen in and around New York.
