Friends: The Movie

Conserative British papers are rarely the best source of information for American movies. I hope this is a false rumour as the series had a good finale that rounded everything off well. It should be left alone now.

"Warner Bros. will produce the project and it was initially believed that Aniston was hesitant about portraying Rachel again and some thought that she might be too famous to step back into the role."

Famous for what exactly? Her fame comes solely from Friends and her marriage to Brad Pitt. All her following work has been no-where as successful.

They're all boring cowards. Phoebie is the only of them approaching a normal mindset and they treat her like shit for being odd.

In real life...

They've all been cursed.

Oh, god, let's hope this isn't true. The show should have ended after Chandler and Monica got married (with no stupid Rachel is pregnant cliffhanger).

I, for one, think Friends is one show that (pardon the expression) never "jumped the shark" it remained pretty good, funny, and strong its whole run. The only quibble I have is with the last couple of seasons which were odd with Baby Emma being around, but I guess she wasn't around all that much as it was, but it was also nice seeing all the friends grow and end in a good place. Something few sitcoms pull of anymore (Seinfeld I'm looking at you.)

A movie? I dunno.

^I agree, I think it's one show that ended just at the right time. It didn't go on too long, and didn't stop too early.

That's why I think a movie would be an awful idea.

The real questions is: "Would Joey be cannon?"

Hope this doen't happen. One series that ended well and should be left alone.

Good grief, no - there's no need whatsoever for this. Here's hoping it's just another silly rumour.

Friends was funny in the Nineties. Period.
I have discovered that Friends has a rewatchability factor close to zero! WOW!

Are you kidding? Seinfeld has the perfect ending, they were all huge assholes and they went to jail for being huge assholes.

This has only come about because of the success of Sex and the City. They've just looked at what other TV shows were popular with women and Friends is obviously at the top of the list.

/waits for Desperate Housewives: The Movie

Call me crazy, but I don't like watching characters I've watched over the years end-up in a bad place like that, not to mention the numerous legal problems with their "trial" and that the punishment was more severe than the real punsihment for these so-called "Good Samaritan" Laws that fine people for not helping others.

While there were still many funny parts afterwards, I feel the show jumped the shark (or "nuked the fridge" as I'm now fond of saying) when Joey fell in love with Rachel. That was just horrifying to watch.
