It's not my favorite thing in the world, but I definitely have "moods" for it. If for some reason it's a weekend and I have a nasty hangover from the night before, a bucket of KFC with biscuts, potatoes and the works is pretty much heaven.
I love fried chicken as well, hot wings and drumsticks are my favorite. I concur that KFC sucks! You know what the only thing worse than KFC is? Banquet *shivers*
And there's no such thing as bad fried chicken. One of the few good things about being from the south is the fact that we fry EVERYTHING, including water.
god, it's one of my biggest weaknesses. just reading what you wrote makes me wanna run out this very minute to the local Popeyes. ugh.
You sound like my mom. She's a vegetarian! I love fried chicken. I hate KFC. I'll only eat Popeye's usually, but Hardee's is pretty good, too.
Not so! Try this on for size! Preheat the over to 400, put 3 lbs chicken parts (drumettes and wingettes work the best, but you can use parts of any size) into a baking pan so they're one layer deep if using full sized parts, or whatever if using mini ones, and let them cook while you make the sauce for about 10 minutes. Mix 1 tsp ginger powder, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup sugar and 6 tbsp corn starch together in a saucepan. Add 2/3rd of a cup water, soy sauce, orange juice and lemon juice. Heat till it boils and thickens into a quivering but pourable sauce. Pour sauce over chicken. Cook for about 45 minutes (or till done) uncovered at 375 stirring or flipping once. Add pineapple niblets before serving if you want. Serve with rice. Sooooo damn good, but get lots of napkins out, it's sticky.
its 1.21 JIGAWATTS GEEZ!!! just kidding hehe. Thats exactly what I was thinking. I want me some chicken fried with 1.21 jigawatts. And some space beer to wash it down.
Cold fried chicken drumsticks are my absolute favorite food on the planet. Fried chicken wings are fun to eat. Favorite franchises, in order: (the late, great) Pioneer, Church's and Popeye's with KFC a distant fourth. My mom made some terrific friend chicken and I'd take hers over any of the aforementioned so-called "professionals."
Yes, I love fried chicken, but I very rarely get to have any besides KFC. None of my friends or family have cooked it, and there's no place in town that I know of to get some. So how would I go about cooking it at home? I've never really thought about it before but now I really want to try it.
You should have heard the lyrics they jammed in the studio on the magic years video. One tit, two turds, John Deacon.
