Freeform orders Marvel's Cloak and Dagger series

An official synopsis has been released...
“Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. “Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger” is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.

It should be they smoke crack and just *think* they have superpowers - make it a comedy.

I noticed sadly that switched at birth got cancelled recently.

If ABC keeps it in the family, we could be seeing that production team tapped with this gig, maybe?

If this report is to be believed (and I'm not 100% sure that I do), then shooting on Cloak and Dagger is set to begin on February 15 in New Orleans.

On one hand it seems odd that there hasn't been any casting information released. On the other hand, Marvel's secrecy is legendary, so who knows?

If true, I think that it's a good idea to move C&D away from New York. NYC is getting a little crowded with the super-types, and this way, the audience won't always be wondering why Spider-Man and Daredevil aren't there to help.

ETA: Circumstantial evidence piles up in the form of an alleged budget report!

I saw the report about Runaways and Cloak & Dagger filming in February a few days ago, but it was so sketchy/rumor-y/unofficial-looking that I didn't deem it worthy of discussion here. But now that we've got a second little piece of confirmation apparently, thanks to that budget, well, looks like it's happening.

Also, that budget makes it sound like the show will be the real deal. Equaling the production values on the netflix series would be more than I could ask for from this show. And even if this show had more episodes, lowering the per-episode expenditure, you still have to think that that would be balanced out by it being significantly cheaper to film in New Orleans vs New York in the first place.

It looks pretty likely that this could be real news since we now have two pieces of evidence, but it still seems weird to me that we haven't heard anything about at least a showrunner or a cast yet.

Oh, I'm surprised neither of those articles mentioned him. Or did I just overlook his name somewhere?

The problem with runaways, is that they have to be young, although they don't have to be young to be homeless.

Too big, and too old, to play teen runaways.

I'm still reeling from Noah getting all those muscles since he was the cute gobby dipshit 9 year old on Heroes, so incredibly long ago.

Cloak is a moron.

Hiding in a church run by a sex offender, who thinks that he (Cloak) is a demon from hell (80s story line). An adult beardo priest falls in love with 15-16 year old Tandy because she's an angel, who must be protected from the scary black dude who is the personification of hell.

He could have got a corporate gig as a courier, and made millions.

They're 23 and 21, that's pretty much as close as we're going to get to real teenagers on a show like this. At least they're closer to their 10's than 30's.

Sliding Marvel Time.

How many years were they runaways without becoming adults?

After their serieses had been running for 15 to 20 years in real time, and they are still not 18, you gotta wonder how many Marvel years they'd been on the street?
