If you've not seen this movie, go forth immediately and buy/rent/borrow/steal a copy and do so.

Possibly one of the best Trek films that isn't really a Trek film, per se. It's the story of two life-long Trek geeks who have a chance meeting with William Shatner - who wants to produce a version of Julius Ceaser where he plays all the roles.

Here's a clip from early in the film where we see a flashback to the childhood of one of the heroes:

And if you make it to the end of the film, you get a Shatner moment that is not to be forgotten.

Trust me, you want to see this movie.

Saw that years ago. I guess it's time for a refresher. Actually, when I tell people about the film, this is the scene I usually tell them about.

OMG! Thanks so much for putting up that clip. I'd never heard of the movie. It looks hilarious! "Think earth tones"

I've said it before and I'll say it again. William Shatner is god.

I gotta find me that movie!

BTW, am i the only one reminded of the NuST movie when that kid is pummeling the bigger guy? That sooo reminded me of young Spock pummeling the Vulcan bully.

It was mildly entertaining, but I really disliked the ending. Seemed completely uninspired.

I actually saw this movie in a theater--along with maybe two other people.

I would have been curious to know how the "Logan's Run" jokes went over with a general audience. Then again, given the success of THE BIG BANG THEORY, maybe it was ahead of its time . . . .

I think most of the humor in the movie comes from references to science ficition and comics that most folks in a general audience would not get. I had to see it twice to catch most them, and probably still have missed some. Probably why this is a "cult movie".

A cult movie among comic book and sci-fi fans. I saw it once, not to bad if you asked me.

Fantastic movie! Although, yes, I agree that the ending didn't quite live up to the rest of the film. There was talk, at one time, that a sequel would be made, but the one guy went on to do Dharma & Greg, and it got buried in development hell, sadly.

I only own a small handful of movies but this is one of them.... great movie!

Dharma & Greg, or Will & Grace?

I think it was the latter.

I think this movie does for Trekkies what The Big Chill did for Baby Boomers. This story and these characters, I can completely relate to. Robert, one of the two main characters in the film, is my buddy Jim to five decimal places.

The great thing about Robert and Mark is, while they are definitely Trekkies/fans/geeks, they really do live in the real world and not their parents' basement (unlike the guys in FanBoys).

Plus, pound for pound, this movie has more Trek and general sf references than just about any movie of the last twenty years.

Like Mysterion said, beg borrow or steal a copy of this movie.
