Seeing some of the comments here and in other forums whenever a new actor is cast, I think "Don't Panic!" is appropriate.

Clearly "Boldly go, where Trek hasn't gone before" isn't entirely accurate since almost everything (including recasting several TOS characters) has been done before.

Anyhow back to frivolity...
