Is anyone as interested as I am in the new F1 season? I swear, with these regulations, the first corner in Australia is a complete crapshoot. At the moment, it appears that the slightest mistake in energy harvesting or usage can cost 10 places. I'll be watching this weeks test very closely. Only 3 weeks to go until the season starts.

Can't wait for the new season. Will be interesting to see what racing is like, Verstappen isn't happy with the cars.

Noises are Mercedes could be the one to beat although they may not if they are ruled against over their engine.

Personally hope Lewis and the Ferrari have it in them to challenge, let him get the 8th title the FIA robbed him of in 21.

How do you feel about Apple TV being the exclusive broadcaster in the USA for five years?

Here it screens on Channel 10 (for the Australian Grand Prix only) and the rest is screened on Fox Sports and Kayo.

Watching Practice Session 3 - there was a crash from Antonelli caused a delay. Charles Lecleric has been the fastest. Didn't get a full session due to a crash in Formula 3 and this Antonelli crash. Qualifying is still at 4pm (it's 1:42pm here now). Practise as just resumed.

The Australian is the only one I watch live. I generally try and check the highlights after the race.

The session is now over - Russell has the fastest time.

So the race is about to start and on the warm up lap - Oscar Piastri went out on turn 4. :(

I think Russell will win.

The race was pretty good by recent F1 standards. Ferrari blew the strategy again, but what else is new? There was passing and the new tech is interesting so far. I see no difference on Apple to what I had on F1TV, except that I save the F1TV bill, which is fine with me.

I've so far only caught the highlights, so can't make a definitive judgement as to the quality of the new rules. In terms of results, I'm hoping to see Ferrari close up on Mercedes, so Hamilton might have a real crack at the 8th title he, in my opinion, deserves. Hope is not the same as realistic expectation, so I suspect the title race will be strictly between George and Kimi, with George's experience paying off.

I also think Alonso may call it quits, if not during the season then certainly at the end. If he's having to let go of the steering wheel due to discomfort, how awful must that Aston Martin be?!

The only thing that might affect the Mercedes is the regulation around the engine 'trick' they have is being reviewed in August so if any changes this could make things closer

Well, so far, I'm pretty happy with the quality of the racing. There are some nice battles up and down through the field. I think, though, that Mercedes and Ferrari seem to have the best handle on the package, by far. How embarrassing for Honda.

Being watching F1 since the early 1990s and have to say that this has been a pretty interesting season so far. That last race in canada was crazy. Another great win for Antonelli but shame about Russell's engine going like that. Think Antonelli's a good bet for the championship but still a long way to go yet.

He may very well done if that Aston Martin doesn't improve but we'll see what happens in Monaco this week.

I'm not expecting much from Aston Martin.

Kimi though, he is currently well on the way to something truly special. How he handles Monaco from the front though, that will be a new kind of pressure. I'd love a Hamilton victory, but I guess that's gonna boil down to Mercedes having an off day.

yep. it certainly will. Not to mention that he's got Verstappen for company on the front row of the grid as well. It's a 78 lap GP tomorrow so we'll see what happens. You're right about AM, i'm not expecting much from them either.
