Not with regards to the coming of the Borg.

Not with regards to the coming of V'Ger.

I don't think we can count on ANY of the original shows adventures now, just due to the fact that the year the ship has been built and its crew is now different.

That doesn't even take into account shit like Kirk not meeting Kodos the Executioner as a kid and all the personal stuff of each character either.

It's all new. And that's great.

Why wouldn't Spock know about the Borg or Dominion? He was certainly around at the time, and I imagine word of such things would spread quite freely.

Oh okay I guess I just think of him as focusing on the Romulans. He can warn Starfleet to stay on their side of that wormhole and save a lot of lives in the future.

And having him warn the 23rd C Starfleet about the Borg before they become a huge menace would be a very useful thing to do. Of course that doesn't mean Starfleet will handle the Borg very well...

Because they're fun. I dunno if I really want 24h C elements introduced into the 23rd C, but why not? Could be good if handled well.

Spock goes back in time becuase of Nero in 2387 - 12 years after the dominion war, 10 years after voyager arrives home, and 8 years after nemesis.

Ah okay. I was thinking Spock's story ended in the TNG timeline just because "that's where we left him."

Well after Voyager, of which I've only seen a bit of mind you, but I've seen enough. After Voyager I don't want Paramount ruining the Borg any more than they already have. Geeeesh. I mean, what, a Shuttle disables a Borg cube???? Are you kidding me?????

Dominion? Meh. I never watched DS9. Supposed to be pretty good but, I tried watching it on spike, and got fed up with hearing Quark's voice at the start of every episode. Is the show about a spacestation or a bar on a space station?????


If you want some fun stuff, why not the Gorn? Wouldn't it be fun to see some Gorn ships blasting away at the Feds? Forget the Klingons and the Romulans. . . or maybe some Tholians? Of course audiences may not respond well to big lizards. Ho hum. Well I suppose if one really needs a relatable enemy then something like the Klingons or the Andorians might be fun to go against. They just fought the Romulans so no point fighting them again. The Kzinti are big cats in space, seems cliche. Orions aren't epic enough. Yeah probably go with Klingons. Or maybe even Cardassians, they're pretty cool. Dunno what the heck they're doing at this point in time though.

Its a reboot. Anything can happen, and almost nothing which happened before will happen. I like continuity in the same universe, its more fun, but if you do a reboot, you may as well start with a clean state. Its better creatively. It opens up all possibility.
