For those who really like science fiction...

the massive science fiction encyclopedia vol. 3 will be in digital form this year. hears hoping it will be ready for the nook color.

Well it is the Science Fiction and Fantasy Forum, so it's quite possible, albeit slightly unlikely, that there'd be someone perusing these missives who doesn't really like sf, but is here for LotR/GoT/HP/BtVS, etc... Just sayin'. :D

That looks like a useful set, but pretty steep.

There are some who would say it's all science fiction. :rommie:

Well I have a clear distinction, but methinks we don't need to despoil this thread with a rehash of THAT discussion...

well its on the nc so that will help quiet a bit. espically with the zoom ability and all. and hopefully the other two will be in this one with the new material.

Well it is the Science Fiction and Fantasy Forum,

Yes, a subforum of a Star Trek Bulletin Board, a science fiction franchise.

So your hypothetical poster is a big enough fan of Star Trek to frequent on a Star Trek themed message board - in spite of really disliking science fiction - and who also frequents the SF&F subforum possibly because he really likes fantasy instead.

Uh...

I did say it was unlikely lol, but you could like Trek for the characters, for example, and not be a big sf fan per se... well anyhow, I think we've extracted the usefulness from this topic. I was mainly trying to be nice to the OP lol... :D

What if somebody disliked science fiction, but liked Star Trek as an exception to that rule. He then joined this board to discuss Star Trek, and grew to like the community here. Eventually he lost interest in Star Trek (eliminating all enjoyment from science fiction) and grew an interest in Fantasy. He decided to stay here because he likes the community despite there being other forums more suited to his needs. He now only posts in TV/Media, Misc, TNZ, and SF&F.

Hey, it could happen.

I love everything about science fiction. I started with star trek, original battlestar galactica and then branched out especially into the fiction. allso love high fantsy such as conan. lord of the rings and of course vampires.
