I found it tedious, boring and formulaic, BUT, I liked it more than Meet Dave.

Decided to give Nash a try (via Netflix Instant streaming, expiring Jan 19 btw), and the OP's right...it is a pretty fun movie, nowhere near deserving the vitrol it received back when it was released. Is it perfect, a cinematic masterpiece? Absolutey not. But it is far from the Worst Movie Evah [tm].
If this had been a Japanese production, or an episode of Doctor Who, we would be cooing over how fanciful a fantasy romp it was (Yea, flying air fish, giant eyeball aliens, talking slabs of concrete... )...Marveling over the production values and kewl effects.

Hey, I actually liked Meet Dave! Had a ton of my favorite supporting actors in it. It was funny in parts.
