For Gallifrey!!!

You know...I would be interested in a story either on screen or novel dealing with the Doctor's wife. We know how lonely he is. It's no wonder that he has shown romantic interest in companions...I wouldn't begrudge someone that after 800 plus years of losing your wife. Always wondered about that.

^^ I think my head just exploded... Of course that should be "grand" mother, but still!! Love that idea... It would create a need for all kinds of timey-whimey wibbly-wobbly stuff, seeing as Susan recognizes the First Doctor as her grandfather. That would mean, if we're thinking lineraly, that River couldn't be her grandmother since the Doctor hadn't met River yet..

But.. um... Dammit.. My head just exploded again...

*gasp*

RIVER SONG is the Doctor's wife and Susan's mother!!!

Well he would have had to if Susan was his actual granddaughter wouldn't he?

Well the point I was trying to address is that people were saying he had to have a daughter...and no he didn't, he could have just as easily had a son, and for all we know a whole brood!

I think Mr. Light was joking a bit regarding River. If River knows the Doctor's real Gallifreyan name do you suppose that he's told her about his family? I'd love to see what's written in her Tardis diary. BBC Books should talk to Moffat and get on that.

I'm writing a Doctor Who fan fic that is about the Birth of the Valeyard that has grounds in the Time War with the Eighth Doctor. The plot is rather complicated and has a lot of wibly, wobly, timey, wimey stuff in it and features three different Doctor's including the 11th and 12th.

Sounds interesting. I once wrote a fan fic set on Gallifrey during the Time War, dealing with Romana being forced to summon Rassilon. You can read it here:

I was joking about River being the wife but wouldn't that be a cool time travel twist? They could retroactively make her a Time Lord like Donna only she survives the process.

Though it now occurs to me that the Doctor doesn't remember her being in his own past so I guess it doesn't make sense. UNLESS she regenerated and had a different face and could never tell him about his future/her past for time travel rule reasons! Okay I'm reaching :p

Would a comic book or graphic novel be a good medium to show the Time War in? Have any of the DW comics been any good?

Doctor Who Magazine's strip (which has been collected into several graphic novels) is great.

IDW's stuff... less so?
