For fans of Star Trek: The Experience

Hey, kids,

Check out this YouTube video before CBS/Paramount takes it down. And, yeah, grab a hanky.

Great video. I've gone every year for 10 years, and saw a lot of faces in that video I recognized. Had a lot of laughs at the bar there, and a lot a good times. The people that hung out were always in good spirits and the "crew" and actors were always fun and lighthearted, and I hooked up with a few ladies there. Its sad for me, but I feel really bad for the "regulars" they were talking to - its obvious this was part of their community, and it was taken away. STTE, whether you were a regular, or just an occasional visitor like me, was a place you could be assured of meeting fun people, having a good time, and instantly fitting in. It's a shame.

(Btw, Suzie Plakson is a lot of woman!)

RIP, STTE

Damn it! i said i wouldn't cry and i did. And i only got to go to the STTE once, in it's first year! I can't imagine how sad the cast and regular visitors must feel after watching this.

Thanks so much for posting it!

^^^(Moe voice) Why, you...

Don't know what happened; I didn't see that anyone had posted anything when I wrote the note but after I hit "submit reply", I saw your note. 'DOH!

Hey Biggshow, any new info?
Guess that rumor it might return to the Hilton is a bit dead in the water eh?

Sorry to bug you dude, you just seemed to have the latest rumor info.

No new info other than what was reported above. Work on the redesign (to allow it to fit into Neonopolis) continues but actual construction is stalled as they wait for CBS to sign off on the new design and/or the economy recovers enough for investors to loosen up the purse strings.

Sooooo... Any news? I couldn't find anything when I googled it a few days ago.

Same old same old. This weekend while visiting some old STTE friends, rumors of it possibly moving back to the Hilton came up, quickly dispelled by rumors that interior demolition at Neonopolis had already started. Bottom line; those who actually know aren't talking. Waah!

^Yeah, it's getting a little aggravating. I really want to know if I'll ever get to have a warp core breach at Quark's again!

In short, STTE will not be reopening at Neonopolis. Everything that was stored away for it will be sold by CBS/Paramount at an auction this summer, except for a few items that will be sold locally here in Vegas directly from the warehouse at the end of February. I'll make sure to post the exact when & where. I'm in touch with the people facilitating the auction about getting the actors their costumes. Here's the article:

A glimmer; a flicker at the end of a long, economically depressed, corporate, dealing with Joshi, tunnel.
