for BTVS fans, Comparing Wesleys Pryce vs Crusher

WesleysDisciple

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Asked this on a BTVS (Buffy the vampire slayer) forum never got an answer

Any thoughts on similaritys between the two Wesleys?

They are both smart people, but can come across as more then a little irritating.

Only in the latter seasons of Angel, does Wesley simmer down and become a more well rounded charachter.

Other than first name, I don't think there's much to compare the two characters.

And Wesley Wyndham-Pryce is a much better name.

Wes W-P is all kinds of awesome in my opinion. Wes Crusher not so much, I'm afraid. I wouldn't count myself a Wes hater, but I'd certainly choose Wes W-P over him.

Wesley Wyndham Price may have started off somewhat irritating, but he became one of the coolest characters in the Buffyverse. Crusher not so much.

Another key difference is that WWP was MEANT to be a bit of an annoying prig when he was first introduced. We were supposed to LIKE Wesley Crusher.

Wesley Wyndham Price is one of my favorite characters in the Buffy/Angel verse. i love how his character grows and changes over the years. Wesley Crusher....i don't hate him but i don't care much for him either.

Somehow I doubt Wesley (TNG version) would have done anywhere near as well keeping Illyria docile, army or not she'd have reduced the world to ashes just to get rid of him.

I actualy do like wesley crusher have to admit... partially cause hes a youth apeal charachter... and I first watched the series at 11

sorry to bump this thread, but just thought, another charachter from buffy that compares to wesley, is Dawn summers.

Both she and he are youth apeal charachters.

both find themselves encumbered by adults oftentimes...

both are quite capable....

both have bizzare borderline freakish hatedomes.

Wesley on Buffy and Angel has one of the greatest character arcs I have ever seen in a TV series. Wesley on Star Trek: The Next Generaton, to put it kindly, does not, though his later appearances on the show were mostly enjoyable to some degree.
