Flint

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Anyone like this character? I thought the episode is one of my favorites. I saw the actor recently in a Twilight Zone episode that I watched.

Yes. As Kirk says at the end of the episode, "An old and lonely man, and a young and lonely man."

A very interesting character. The nearly immortal man, who was actually some of the most important figures in human history. Maybe he was even Keanu Reeves.

Yes, I like Flint! And if you do too, you should do yourself the favor in get the movie “The Man from Earth” by the same author. Its main character John Oldman has a lot in common with Flint and can be read as a younger version.

And yes, James Daly's stint at The Twilight Zone is certainly one of that series best episodes: “A Stop a Willoughby”.

The TZ episode that really freaked me out was To Serve Man.

I think Flint was something of a con artist/showman, in addition to being 6,000 years old. I can buy into the idea that for some reason a bully from Mesopotamia would live to the 23rd Century, but I don't believe he was quite all of those who he claimed to be. I have trouble fitting Moses and Methuselah into my vision of the history of the Star Trek universe.

Why not? People can change over a lifetime, and he had hundreds. Besides, he might make big changes in his persona to disguise what he was in the previous life"

Flint, I've always said could be the last of the Immortals from The Highlander franchise! He won the prize and retired to outer space where after centuries of eternal life he started to age!
James Daly was also in the premier of The Invaders as David Vincent's business partner, Alan Landers. Landers died in a regenerative tube when found snooping around an abandoned electricity plant by the aliens. He also made another appearance later on as a General intent on destroying the aliens who are at last willing to talk peace with Vincent and his allies!
