JATO bottles are now very rare so it would be a total waste of those that are left.
I just get the feeling that the majority of these guys are simply folks who get together for a weekend to have a laugh and get drunk (and occasionally laid) at the expense of the real world.

There's always a few for that, yes, but with no end of nut-job conspiracy theorists who believe all sort of shit, I am inclined the believe most are "Believers". If they weren't, they wouldn't need to be a part of this or do this to have fun, they could name what they are doing any sort of crazy obviously-comical names just to have fun and draw other people in.

Ratings. The media will do what ever it takes to get ratings. Fluff stories, lies, time-wasting shit stories, going over something they've already done over and over again, etc. Think of it like May Sweeps (if that's still a thing).

A flat Earth having a magnetic field would be problematic anyway without a rotating iron-nickel inner core within a liquid iron-nickel outer core. The approximately dipole plus other components of the Earth's magnetic field would be hard to replicate without some unlikely fortuitous arrangement of magnetically permeable material in the disk. Magnet polar wandering would require that this material move about for some contrived reason.
When the ice melts, a lot of the the ocean and atmosphere presumable spill over the edge onto the underside of the disk before freezing. I doubt flat earthers even believe in plate tectonics as it requires a mantle that behaves as a viscous fluid over geologic time periods when heated by a core.
Now Now, surely there must be a way we can test this teleportation theory.
If you are teleported from one side to the other surely you can't see the other side. So let's use hot air balloons one flying several hundred feet behind the other. One will be teleported before the other so would disappear from view f.om the other. Now as this doesn't happen we can file this idea where it belongs in the bin.

And of course, it must be a conspiracy that teleporters haven't somehow made the news. Government must be hiding something, right? 
And food for thought: Even if this were true, it'd be enormously expensive. You'd have to have every country in the world agree to building one of these and you'd have to jump through so many hoops to make it happen. Yeah, not very likely. It does make for a good sci-fi plot though.

lol, I know right, and i watched the video and the first thing that struck me was the fact the tripod was sitting on top of sand bank and quite clearly not at sea level, and i am as thick as they come, and even i saw that massive flaw in their calculations. lol
