Flat Earther to Launch Rocket Proving Earth is not Round

To me it's tragic if you're minding your own business and ding what you're supposed to be doing and you get killed (a car swerves into you, etc.), however, if you initiate what everybody (in the general sense) and their grandmother knows is going to lead to your foregone conclusion of untimely death, it's stupidity.
Tragic and stupid.

This was his third launch from what I gather.

My guess is--had the balloon stunt worked, and he saw the curve of the Earth (he might not actually have been a flat earther after all)--the TV program would have seen him admit that the Earth is round--and it would have been a boon for science.

Had he lived and the TV show made--the final scene might have been the curve of the Earth.

He was the latest in a long line of tinkerers:

You know, people who think they’re more clever than they really are and making dumb jokes at the expense of a person losing his life, no matter how it happened, is really quite disturbing. Apparently good taste went out of style with the advent of the internet.
Stupid games win stupid prizes.
He played a stupid game and won his "prize".

Been trying to find anything science-related in this thread. Turns out there wasn’t anything.
The earth isn’t flat and making fun of people who die might be even worse than believing it is. Locking the thread.
