Flat Earther to Launch Rocket Proving Earth is not Round

OMG...... Those tweets

The only reason they tweet like they do is because the Flat Earth theory is the number one conspiracy on Earth and of all times. Those who are part of the Flat Earth society are those people who don't contribute anything towards society but just want to be part of the biggest thing possible. They could care less what is as long as its the biggest thing they want to be part of it.

They think that because its the number conspiracy that it makes them more important than someone else as well as being on a higher level than someone else when there are really on nothing more than a flat level of existence.

Spelt bossa nova incorrect and my stupid phone didn't correct me. Covfefe moment.

Anyway, more evidence for a spheroidal earth that the flat-earth loonies will dismiss as CGI trickery or optical defect or whatever:

What were the Greeks thinking when they calculated the curvature of the Earth? O_o

MAGELLAN WAS A FRAUD! When he got past South America he did a 180 and snuck through by the south to East Asia!

And all the people who do commuter flights from East Asia to the Western Americas every day used the secret super-planes that go three times the speed of regular planes so they can cover the entire length of the disc in just half a day.

Anyway how do we KNOW Mars is round? It could be a disc that's just always facing us, you know, like the moon.

When the flat earthers find out the Earth is not flat after all.:scream:

Round and round. Well love will find a way, just give it time. Round and round...what comes around goes around. I'll tell you why. (Dig...)

Now his latest idea it to lift his rocket with a balloon and about $100,000 of hydrogen then launch.

http://www.themaineedge.com/adventure/mad-mike-hughes-–-limo-driver-turned-rocket-man

Thinks the total cost will be about $1mil and it will take about 10 months.

Guess the suckers will pony up more of their cash for his scheme.

Reinventing the rockoon (a real thing). Wonder if he's remembered to sort out how to land safely and doesn't end up harming some unfortunate bystander. Of course, the gravity of a disc should ensure he ends up going in the direction of the north pole. On a flat earth, buildings should be tilted further from the vertical the farther south one travels and we'd all have to tilt the same amount when going about our daily business. Talking of tilting, this fella seems like a modern-day Don Quixote.

You know, if I thought the Earth was flat, and wanted to prove it in the cheapest, safest manner possible, my first instinct would be to get a boat and just go West until I see the edge.

But no, this guy wants a ROCKET. :)

Now that I think about it, if I was an unscrupulous individual who wanted to take advantage of Flat Earthers, the thing I'd do is come up with some expensive, fantastic scheme to prove the earth is flat, then get Flat Earthers to raise money for me to do it and then just kind of run off. This is seeming plausible to me.

OMG didn't they do that on Lost In Space?

So looking this up indeed they did. They tied a huge balloon to an empty reactor chamber with rockets on the bottom and the balloon lifted it up then the rockets fired...

They also borrowed the idea from the rockoon concept. A conventional 2-stage rocket expends a lot of energy just getting the second stage above the bulk of the atmosphere. Pegasus satellite lauches are from an aircraft instead - more controllable and reliable than a balloon.

Or he should just build a balloon would take him to an altitude at which point he can see the curvature of the Earth and forget the rocket - it will be much easier.
