Flanigan back in uniform, hopping offworld once more

...But unfortunately, it's not a stargate he's hopping through. :( JF has the lead in an RHI (Riverworld, The Phantom, among others) movie of the week for Syfy entitled The Other Side.

Here's the synopsis:
It was a groundbreaking device designed to glimpse alternate universes and government commissioned by a brilliant physicist. But the machine malfunctioned on its first presentation, transporting a group of observers into a nightmarish new dimension. The team quickly must use ingenuity and courage to outwit, outplay and outlast the native man-eating creatures of this bizarre new world while doing their best to repair the damaged machine. Even if they stay alive, without a working transport, they may never make it back home.

:barf:

There's a very brief clip of Joe in action, and a single production photo. Whatever you do Joe, don't run into the forest and stay away from the alien egg pod melon thingies!

Hmm...long distance travel, human-eating native creatures, damaged technology...that doesn't sound familiar at all. </sarcasm>
Oh well, could be interesting. I wonder if Flanigan's character is any different than Sheppard.

Joe, in military fatigues, running through pine forest.

Glad to see they're really stretching themselves creatively! :bolian:

Still, that pic of Joe in a suit may just be the hottest he's looked since being shirtless in season 1 of SGA.

They didn't even try to make him look any different than Shep. Rolled up sleeves, some sort of black wrist band, way too much product in his hair. I'm surprised his name isn't Colonel Sean Jeppard.

And John Rhys-Davies? I know the economy is bad, but this is the best he could get?

Apparently the woods of Vancouver are getting another workout serving as the backdrop for yet another SF production.

I may give this a shot. Looks silly enough to be fun. ;)

Sorry to bump this thread but I was searching for something and this post caught my attention.

John Rhys-Davies was also in a low budget scifi movie about a chupacabera on a cruise ship

He was in the first Au Pair movie. I like that he's not snob about what he appears in, and he elevates whatever movie he's in.

So... I'm guessing Joe Flanigans acting range is pretty limited then. He's basically playing the character exactly as he would Sheppard

Haven't heard anything about this, another cheap Syfy monster flick I'm guessing? The plot looks like a mash-up between the AU window Walter Bishop made in Fringe and The Road Not Taken from SG-1, with a bit of Primeval thrown in.
